Hello! I am looking for some help. Posted on Reddit and opened a support case.
It started one day suddenly without changing anything, printing top surfaces turned into trash.
Started troubleshooting under extrusion first. Not the issue. Blocks printed on this P1S and 2 other P1Ps are within 0.02grams apart. Also printing at 0.9 flow on the other P1Ps looks 10x better than this. That block also weighs much less at 0.9 flow obviously.
Printed a few solid cubes and same, top surface was trash. Noticed walls were fine so printed 90 degree infill and surface was great!
Swapped full hotend and extruder with other P1Ps, no change. Not extruder, hotend or flow at this point.
Seems motion related. Tightened belts XY and Z, checked all pulleys with loose belt (spins fine). Everything is rock solid, no slop at all. Yet anything printed at 45 degrees (using 1 motor) looks like poop.
The 45 degree back and forth lines have uneven spacing causing solid infill to have a criss cross pattern. Cannot figure out why. Bought some belts from Micro Center as next step but hoping someone has some other idea what would cause a weird issue like this.
Slowing down does fix it. 1000 acceleration or under 150mm/sec speed does mitigate the issue.
Other troubleshooting steps:
Swapped little board on front of toolhead with p1p
Tried all types of PLA filament
Removed AMS
Made sure extruder fan turns on, it does
I’m at a loss, hoping it’s belts. Someone on Reddit had the idea maybe low voltage to motor issue, can’t hold the torque fully in step at high accel and motor wobbles a bit. Will probably check this if I get to changing the belts.
