I’m using the rotary attachment + support arm to laser etch some stainless steel water bottles, and am getting very strange results. They’re inconsistent from right to left, even when the entire bottle is level, supported well, and it’s just text all the way through.

I cleaned the bottle before and after, and you can tell that after the W, the letters all come out cleanly. But it clearly is weakest at the far right (as held in the chamber), and gets better as it moves left.
I am using the default blue stainless steel tumbler settings, except I’ve changed:
Speed: 200 mm/s
Power: 45 % (10W laser)
Passes: 3
Graphic Correction: On
I’ve also noticed this as it wraps around the bottles I’ve tested, but for now I’m trying to isolate just straight on, until I can get them looking perfect.
I’ve gotten some really good results, and then some pretty awful ones, without seemingly changing much at all. I have cleaned the laser module (last night), checked alignment, maintained my H2D, and cleaned the cameras.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I feel your pain. This one piece had 3 errors. The black bar left behind on the first run. Then aligned the letters to the photo in studio, which was somehow wrong. The last thing was the weird marks it left next to the first 6 letters.
The next run was perfect
Did you change settings or just run it down again?
I tried again with the Graphic Correction turned off, but nothing changed.
Same settings, but it was a completely different run(after a restart, recalibrate laser, reopening studio etc).
I didnt even notice the graphics correction setting, honestly
I have the same problem. Every single attempt with the rotary skews both images and text.
The first time, I assumed I had done something wrong, but at this point it is just annoying. Everything is perfectly aligned in Bambu Suite and in the preview, yet the final result looks like someone died halfway through the job.
So far, a total of 10 mugs have been ruined, and now support is asking whether I am willing to destroy even more of them at my own expense.
I’m still working through it, but here’s what I’ve found so far.
Bottles are not made equal. The one from my photo legit seems to have more coating at the top than the bottom, so I either bump up the settings up top, or just don’t laser there.
I have turned on Dual Scanning, and set to 200mm/s with 3 passes at 40-45% power. I’m getting very clean and good results.So far just text and a QR code (which my phone couldn’t scan because of the angle and metallic), but they came out well, even wrapped completely around the bottle.
