Need some help for installing this light kit (Model FAZ004-L). The included QR code on the box takes me to a Bambu Wiki page but it really doesn’t give any instructions. I’ve found some other instructions but not sure they match my exact kit. Here is what my LED light looks like:
It only has a single connector and there’s no double sided tape included. The back of the light casing has some tabs that stick out, which I’m guessing are meant to connect to holes in the mounting location.
The tabs look like they are supposed too install into holes on the underside of the top rail and then the fixture should slide to the right to lock these into position. I see the holes where they are supposed to go but the spacing doesn’t look right and I can only install one tab and I can’t slide it to the right to install the other.
I don’t want to break off the tab(s). How are you supposed to get this mounted?
When I peel back the black tape on the right side of the top rail (when looking from the back of the printer), there is only a single connector and it already has something connected. I’m guessing this is the standard LED light on the left side of the cabinet. Most the the other instructions show a set of plugs that both of the lights can connect to but I only have a single plug on the P1S and a single plug connector on the wire from the additional light. So how can I plug both of the lights in? Here’s what I have behind the tape, it shows the existing LED light plugged into it.
If I disconnect that and plug the new LED light in, I’m going to lose the other light since there’s not another mounting location and there isn’t a second connector on the new light. How are you supposed to make these connections?

I think you have misunderstood the “lightning upgrade” meaning… It is an upgrade for the P1P which does not (did not?) have the light bar as standard but for a P1S or a P1P already equipped with a light bar it is just a replacement bar.
There is no extra location to mount it and worse the original connector on the AP board that you are showing is only rated at 300mA under 5V and the original bar consumed about 200mA meaning you cannot installed a second light bar in parrallel to this connector without risking frying your AP board.
If you want extra lighting you can connect it to the USB port (rated at 1.5A) but honestly if you do that there are many better solution than the original light bar, you can find many topics on the subject.

Thanks. Very interesting. A couple concerns I didn’t mention. First, looking again at the items sale page (LED Light - P1 Series | Bambu Lab US Store) I see that it does say that this is installed on the left beam (where the standard P1S light already is) and not the front bar. However, they show this as a P1 Series upgrade not just a P1P upgrade, which appears incorrect. Also, there ARE CUTOUTS on the front bar that do allow this to be mounted there, which seems odd. Also, oddly, the link they provide for installation instructions on this page go to a set of instructions for the X1C not the P1 series. So Bambu isn’t providing P1 installation instructions or comments on the current rating issue and they don’t supply a current rating for the 2-pin PH connector on the covering tape in the printer (or anywhere else I can see) they only show a 5V/1.5A rating for the USB connector on the tape. So, I guess since this will mount on the front bar, I could get a 2-pin PH to USB A adapter and mount it there. However, I think this is going to be pretty dim anyway, so not sure it’s worth it. The BIQU Panda Lux LED Upgrade Kit (BIQU Panda Lux LED Upgrade Kit Illuminate the Print Area with Simple M – Biqu Equipment ) seems to be providing much more light and already has a USB A connector and is meant to plug into the available USB A connector. It’s also on sale for $8.99 just $2 more than the Bambu light. It will cost more to find a 2-pin PH to USB A adapter, so I think I’ll try that route instead. Thanks for your help.

Although these may be for the initial batch which did not have recesses to hold the led because it instructs to use tape or simply because using these recesses requires sliding the lighting case from front to back. Doing so interferes with the camera which would need removal and if you remove the camera, it will disconnect the flex cable and then requires removing side panel to re-attach which is a pain!
The wiki says this " Replace the LED Light 5V 0.3A". I measured it and it’s more like 0.25A but still the connector on the AP board can not handle 2 of them. The current rating of the plug is referenced in this wiki: Bambu Lab Mods to be cautious about | Bambu Lab Wiki

LED lights connected to the AP board
The AP board of the X1 and P1 series is designed to supply up to 0.3A of power to the LED bar used for iluminating the enclosure. If the printer is upgraded with a more powerful LED light which generates a higher power draw, the AP board can be damaged.
We strongly recommend avoiding a higher power LED light as it can lead to damage to the AP board which is not covered by warranty.
For dedicated lighting, we recommend using the 6500K White LED Light Strip with external power or connecting it to the P1 USB port.
And even this led strip bambu lab sells is too long. I have a similar one bought on amazon and it pulls about 1A per meter so need to be cut at max 1.5M in length to handle the max rating of the USB port.
The BIQU products that plug into Bambu Labs electrical system are notorious for causing problems. BIQU is also not a Bambu Labs partner either. I speak from both my personal experience and from the number of times people have issues with their printer going crazy and there is a BIQU electrical part in the mix.
