Interacting with your own models

I am curious about what are the do’s and do not’s of interacting with your own models on MakerWorld. I am assuming that I can add my own models to a collection but I am not certain if I do that the same way I add any other model or if there is a different process. I was also curious if I can download my own model without it causing any harm to my account. This not at all that important of a thing for me to do, mind you, I just am curious to see how the 3MF file looks once packaged by MakerWorld.

I don’t want to risk cheating, or even the appearance of it. So I thought I would ask! If anyone has any tips regarding the proper edict and methods of interacting with your own models I would appreciate your input!

Treat your models the same as you would with anyone else’s.

This includes adding to private and public collections you create.

You can print your own models without fear of being accused of driving up the numbers. This is because you interacting with your models doesn’t count towards downloads or prints.

One tip: do not like, print or otherwise do things with an account linked to your IP.

This could be seen as benefiting from an account you control. Example, your account and your wife or child account.

Thanks! I briefly considered creating a second account and decided it would be a stupid idea.

You can have more than one account, just don’t like or otherwise increase things like prints or downloads of the second account when logged into the first.

A few accidental are forgiven p, but doing so constantly will appear as if you are artificially manipulating things.

Just try to remember interact with the account you are logged into.
