Ironing and edges

I pretty much have my ironing settings dialled in for PLA Matte from BBL. But I am having problems with corners or edges and banding. Has anyone seen this happen before? Is there something I can try to fix it?

This was printed with all default ironing settings with 60/40 for speed/flow

Do the corners with issues show any signs of lighting from the build plate?

No signs of lifting, no. I used the super tack cool plate whatever it is called. I am considering going to the gym to build up whatever muscles I am over exerting trying to get things off that. I have a aux fan deflector too. I have tried prints with different plates and with/without the diffuser. Lifting is worse without the diffuser.

I hate those plates. They are prone to the surface peeling off in small spots and worse, I still cannot remove a thin cylinder that formed part of the support for a model using matte filament which stuck to the plate. It is thinner than the blades you attach to the scrapers.

I would love to blame that plate, but it would certainly not lose contact which would have been a consideration.

While the edges may show some mild distortion, it appears to be one corner.

Where was that corner positioned during the print?

For example, was it on the front right of the build plate as you look at the glass door?

I’d love it to be the plate as an issue. Easy to solve! But I have had this problem a while and printed a lot of calibration squares, some of which had this same issue, on smooth, textured, cool and 3rd party 25p plates from temu. I dropped the issue for a while but now I want to resolve it since I am trying to get my printer to pay for itself by selling prints.

So, you are printing upright.

Where is the problem corner in that photo?

Are you using a P2S?

Sorry I should have said. I am using a P2S, 0.4 BBL nozzle using BBL matte charcoal black. Corner is circled. I think the non ironed version in this photo has a problem on that corner.

That happens to be right next to the Adaptive Airflow Switching Unit.

This may be a factor. I do not have that model, so I can’t test it..

Have you tried rotating the model 180°?

I haven’t but I have a deflector that blows the air up.

What about printing a test cube, same height, maybe 50 x 50 mm with ironing and placed in the same location as the corner.

I’ll give it a go. I don’tknow why I didn’t think of that.

I think its the model. Which is annoying. I have 2 days to resolve it before i need to dispatch the order.

Test cubes came out fine. Did one on either side of the build plate, both the same.

The non ironed model, you can see the infill. Printed another with 2 extra top layers, and the quality is shocking.
