Ironing - top 1" perfect, rest is textured

I printed a sign and had it set to iron the top surfaces. The sign was a Stargate Earth address so it basically says “There’s no place like home.” Anyway it ironed the black perfectly for about a 1" strip at the top and the rest is all textured. I had it set to 30mm/s and 15% flow. The filament was dried. I’ve only had this Bambu A1 since October, which was my first printer so I’m trying to dial in how to get smooth surfaces. I did print an ironing calibration, so I thought I had it dialed in. Any idea what is causing this?

Looks like the edges are fine but the middle part is underextruded, common with ironing. To fix this just up the ironing flow %.

Thanks I’ll give it a try!

I print signs always with the front side down, first layer slow and over-extruded.

I would, but it has raised lettering (around 1/16" high) so it would require a bunch of supports.

I increased the flow to 20% and it looks like that did the trick! Thanks!

Ah, okay. I didn’t see that.
