When ironing a top surface that has two filament colours, there is no Z-hop when moving between different sections, causing streaks. Please could this option be added? (This is on X1C with AMS, ‘Z-hop when retract’ is enabled in the extruder settings but I assume it doesn’t retract during ironing so doesn’t z-hop either.)
What printer are you printing this on? In bambu studio you can change some settings to add a hop between this. Or you can print it upside down
This is printed on X1C with AMS. I’ve checked all the retract/z-hop settings to no avail - they work for normal printing but not for ironing. Upside down isn’t an option for this print.
Well make sure you enable Z hops, and check the filament settings
Ah OK it appears that my part is just too tall, it’s 250mm and there’s a 249mm limit on when Z-hops are applied. My bad!
You can work around that as long as
“Z hop while retraction” + “Z hop upper boundary” ≤ 256mm .
