Just wondering after updating to the new v01.02.00.00 firmware is it a good idea to do a complete re-calibration?

You can recalibrate the printer at any time, and it should be done whenever you relocate the printer. I recalibrate after completing every maintenance. I also did it when I added a riser, and again when I started storing filament on top of the riser, so that input shaping can provide valid compensation values.
I frequently had strange problems after updating my X1C firmware. Homing troubles, incorrect fan speeds, or temperatures, etc. Sometimes it took a few days for the problem to appear.
Restoring factory settings (which includes a printer calibration) corrected the problems so often that I began performing a restoral immediately after every update. That was the end of my firmware update issues.
Be aware that if you have filament calibration results stored on the printer (via the Device tab), they will be lost when you restore factory settings. I am unsure if or how those can be backed up or restored. (Does Bambu sync keep that in the cloud?) I keep that data in my OrcaSlicer filament presets.
I have other devices that also work better after an update and factory reset, but I am not sure why. I think it might involve correcting memory locations or pointers to memory locations, but that is just speculation.

im surprised you all were able to update, my printer cannot seem to find the update
It installed on my system. From version 01.01.02.00 to 01.02.00.00, and 5 hours later it wanted another update. This time it reverted back to version 01.01.03.00. Has this happened to anyone else?

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of installing this update. However, I also see that AMS 2 is getting the old version there.
Same issue here with the update that appears to be a rollback. I submitted a ticket for clarity.
To answer the OP, I always power cycle and calibrate after firmware updates.

that would explain why mine failed when i first got the prompt to update and then it never came back
Now it’s again info about upgrade - I did rollback before.

I uploaded the new firmware earlier, all went well so I switched the machine off. Having seen these comments I just checked and all ok, no prompt to rollback so fingers crossed.
I did notice ithe firmware on the two AMS-HT’s had updated as well…

I power cycled my printer and it hasn’t flagged me to revert back.

I switched off the P2s for about 20 minutes and restarted it. Now I was able to update it to version 01.02.00.00 again.

Habe eben meinen Drucker eingeschalten und es wurden diesmal auch drei Updates (Drucker, AMS 2Pro und Filament Buffer) angezeigt. Hoffentlich bleiben sie uns jetzt erhalten. 
Support suggested I power cycle, after it booted back up I received a warning that the firmware was abnormal and I updated again, everything seems to be in order now after updating again and power cycling again. Going to run another calibration and power cycle just in case.
i updated last night and printed 2 fidget eggs np no issues now it wants to roll back again thanks for the tip in case i get the errors
Yes same here, kind of because it said update to version 1.02 - i did the update came back 10min later and it installed 1.01.03 - don’t ask me why!
After this last firmware update, the filament buffer has been acting strangely and making a different noise… has anyone else noticed this problem?
In a word, Yes. As a firmware tester, I always re-calibrate the device I’m working on, the reasons are technical but I’m happy to outline those reasons if you’re interested? Its possibly the best 30 minutes you will spend when a new firmware build is downloaded to your printer.
