im thinking of buying and ams lite just for petg as support material on pla,am not interested in multi color printing,is it worth it?will there be a lot of waste on pla?thnx
It really depends on whether you are printing flat supports or curved, more organic supports. Curved supports = more layers with support = more purge. In my experience, even when I increase the purge volumes, PETG often contaminates PLA (or vice versa) and I get unstable sections that break easily. I should add that I use an AMS 2 Pro and the experience may be different from an AMS Lite.
If you are only using it for supporting, then maybe don’t bother with it. If you aren’t at least going to use it for multicolor printing, then it’s not worth the money for you. Granted, that’s just my take, and if that’s what you want to do, then respect
