Is Bambulab making fun of its customers?

It’s still such a new market and their printers are appealing to a whole new demographic of people. I don’t blame them for feeling out the price points in the market and seeing where they can fill a gap, especially with the year end. There’s also no reason this should make you regret buying your printer… I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t buy a product for their astounding customer service I buy it because it works.

All I’ll say is this:

When the A1 mini came out, I was legit like “Oooooooooo I love it!!” However when I saw the print volume, I decided to just hold off. It was really small, and at that time I figured I’d rather save for a P1S for the simple reason of print volume alone. I already knew that I wasn’t going to be happy with that small print bed, so I admired from a distance.

Then the A1 released and I pounced on it. It’s perfect for my needs, budget and so forth. Sure, let’s say 3 months from now they release a MAX version with even moar volumez. Sure, I’d rather have the larger printer, but I make sure I’m totally happy with my purchase no matter what circumstances might take place in the future BEFORE I buy! In other words, I’ll still be very happy with my A1.

If the A1 mini was too small of a printer for you, why then did you buy it at all? The announcement of the A1 doesn’t change the dimensions of the A1 mini. I dunno… I just think these individuals would have buyer’s remorse whether the A1 released or not in the end.

The A1 mini is still going to be an absolutely fantastic printer. I dunno. I just don’t think hating on/blaming Bambu is the correct avenue to take here. They’re just a company- no, no even simpler than that- Bambu was founded by a dude with profit as the main goal like any other business venture. They’re here to make money 1st and improve the 3d print world/experience 2nd.

Why not ask the question why they didn’t just stick with releasing the A1? Why the A1 mini at all? There are going to be very real reasons- some valid, others maybe not so much.

Why would they call it a mini if there wasn’t also a normal A1 on the horizon

No, more bed slingers.

There I fix it.

The only thing I know is that the second hand market is flooded LITERALLY with A1 Mini “UNOPENED” offers. That sounds like many people pissed somehow lol

@soulflayer41:
Please stay with the truth: Nobody said they hate Bambu Lab!

As I said in my first post I’m a happy customer and satisfied with my P1P (with P1s upgrade kit)!

Bambu Lab is obviously clearly pushing the AMS and customers who don’t want the AMS have to wait. “Buy with AMS or wait” is not very nice.

@cartyski:
Customer service is very important! There are many companies selling the same product… every idiot can sell you a product, but if something is wrong with the product the customer service can show how good a company really is! That’s the difference.

So, Bambu Lab customer service is helpfu to mel and that is one of the reasons why I bought a printer from them and not from another company!

By the way: Thank you guys for all the input and different views! That makes the discussion very interesting.

I totally agree. Customers have been asking for a larger build volume. I’ve purchased a K1 Max for that purpose. I didn’t even consider the A1 Mini and I assumed there would be a normal size build plate plus available at a later time. I’m that crazy about Cartesian printers. I’m now waiting for the multi-filament extruder and the easy nozzle exchange to appear on a newer, larger Core XY printer. I’m also considering the Coprint multi-filament option which is currently on Kickstarter.

I just don’t think hating on/blaming Bambu is the correct avenue to take here.

Allow me the opportunity to better explain my statement above, as I do not wish to give the wrong impression here. I use the phrase “hate on” as an expression or turn of phrase meaning “to criticize”.

Look, what I’m trying to tell you is that you don’t need to regret your purchase of the A1 mini. Does it kinda stink when a bigger, badder product comes out right after you make your purchase? Sure, but that’s just the reality of the situation here. It’s nothing special, meaning it’s nothing to get too upset over. You have absolutely no control over it. None of us possess a crystal ball that enables us to see the future.

I now have a bad feeling about the company

You don’t have to feel this way because you were excited about one of their new products and bought it. Like I said before, it’s still going to be a fantastic printer, especially when you look at anything on the current market at a similar price point. Prusa doesn’t hold a candle to these things on price point alone. They (Prusa’s) are extremely expensive. The A1 mini is comparatively very affordable, yet packed with awesome tech that actually works (as opposed to being released half-baked and then making promises that announced features will eventually be incorporated… Prusa…)

So, I don’t think you need to feel bad or betrayed or slighted, whatever-- about Bambu’s release of the A1 (something you cannot control at all) and instead use the release as an excuse to buy another printer!

You’ve already had good experiences with Bambu’s printers up to this point, and I don’t see any reason why you won’t/shouldn’t enjoy your A1 mini when it finally arrives.

That or you just want to complain and have us all commiserate with you which I absolutely understand as well- not saying that’s totally wrong or anything. It does suck for sure. I just don’t think you need to look into it so deeply that it sours your opinion. That’s why I said I feel some people (not you) will be upset about the A1 mini no matter what.

iAreku, I might be in the market for an A1 mini but a quick search on eBay shows none. What second hand market are you refering to?

Our national “craiglist” is full of them (spain). Dunno about other countries…

Evidently, I am just blind. I checked Craigslist in the Madrid area, and even included “nearby” areas which pretty much covers most of Spain I think, zero results for either Bambu or A1.

I also tried https://www.milanuncios.com/ which had an X1C and http://wallapop.com/ which had a few A1s, one still in the box, but oddly enough a bunch of X1Cs.

I am sure I am not searching correctly so any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Where are you based?

Or, it could be that people have practical experience and realistic expectations, and don’t feel the need to be melodramatic about issues that most people could care less about. Those folks are usually the same ones that unleash ad-hominem attacks on folks or companies they don’t agree with.

There are some offers Bambu lab A1 mini - jak nowa Rzeszów • OLX.pl very cheaply

If interested, you should make sure the offer (and the printer) are real… OLX doesn’t have a good reputation as a 2nd hand platform…as there were plenty of hoaxes there and some ppl have fallen for it, losing both money and the objects.

First off, I went ahead and bought a new one. The one linked above comes to about $433 us and a new printer runs $459 so I don’t see the benefit in choosing used over new with warranty.

Thanks though!

good choice. :+1:
new comes with warranty, 2nd hand doesn’t provide any.

What isn’t real in that offer? Anyway that platform is meant for direct sales. You want something , you drive there and check. Please tell how second hand 3D printer can be not second hand? Discussion is about people that are not satisfied with their printers, so it will be second hand when they want to sell it

I’m not denying your statement. What I’ve been saying prior was the fact that one needs to pay attention when purchasing from third parties selling on OLX. Not everyone can go “on site” to verify the correctness of what they want to purchase, and as stated before, there are plenty of “bad actors” (individuals) who are posting deceiving announcements. I know it to be true as i have a couple of friends in PL (Krakow) who got burned on OLX, reason for which I posted my previous comment.

Don’t judge others by your measure
