I recently started printing with ABS and I noticed that heat and fumes were escaping my H2D through the opening in the back of the printer. I have designed a poop chute that seals the opening but now I wondering if that could cause issues.
Is there some reason the air flow out the back of the printer is needed during printing? Thanks.
I’ve been running mine sealed for a long time now. No issues.

If you share the model on MakerWorld, it may get removed, as the advice is “the chute must not be blocked”.
This has happened to others.
If you are doing this for yourself and you understand that poop will accumulate and ‘could’ back up and damage the printer, then you do you.
I always had a sealed poop chute on all my printer P1s, X1, H2D. I have a down pipe that transports the poop to a dedicated waste drawer. This also helps reduce the fumes escaping from the printer during ABS/ASA/PA.

the h3d poops are nice and small i made a chuite like this for k2plus and itd always get clogged as the poops would have tails and eventually catch and clog
