Is missing QR code on the top of the hotend OK?

I had to use the heat-gun to remove the adhensive(PLA) from the hotend.

At the same time, QR code on the hotend got melted so that I removed it.

Just automatic detection od the hotend type won’t work fine without QR code?

It is only auto detection that will be affected,

You are good on everything else.

BTW, despite BL calling these things QR Codes, they are actually ArUco markers. They are used for things like augmented reality markers to let a device identify something in a 3D space. BL uses these with camera for detection, the same with build plates. They are easier to spot with low definition cameras and particularly so when moving in relation to the camera.

QR Codes were also designed to be read by a standard camera, but capable of storing far more information and normally with minimal movement. As they hold more data, they are generally larger that an ArUco marker and as such the were not suitable for the original locations like the build plate.

Thanks so much, Sir!!

Is there any possible way to put ArUco again on the hotend!

Do they sell it solely?

You could always 3D print one using black and white materials that will come with the temperature on the nozzles heatsink.

This will depend on the maximum temperature you will print at with allowances for the heatsink being a bit cooler.

The glue will need to be suitable for high temps.

Thanks for the detail. I only print PLA and PETG.

So PETG will be better than PLA when considering the temperture.

However, it still will be melted if I print PETG. Right?

and where are they sharing the printing data at??

Could always print it on paper.

Do they provide ArUco data somewhere??

Are you actually talking about the data matrix on the top, or the code next to the 0.4 callout on the front of the hotend? The data matrix on the top is internal to Bambu and for production tracking. The code next to the 0.4 is the code for hotend verification.

Thanks! not there!

I’m talking about the one on the top!!

Then it is irrelevant to machine operation. None of my AliX hotends have a code up there.

You are my savor!! Thanks again!

I appreciate it!!
