Is my internal PSU faulty? And general H2C impression

guys, I having a blast with my H2C so long. Story of my purchase:

  • Got flashed of that tank on Formnext 2025 here in Frankfurt.
  • Got a preorder mail with EST 23. December.
  • Purchased that tank.
  • 24h later received a shipping notification OMG
  • Sold my H2D within 20 min (could have been sold 5 in that time) on Ebay.
  • Got the machine extremely well packed on a wooden underconstruction from a freight shipper on our door. In that way a fork lift is the only possible way to move his freight - so no football games possible. On this point we are far ahead of all Fedex/UPS deliveries abroad. Not a single scratch on the outer carton! Good Job Bambu Germany!!!

The H2C does an incredible job and feels much more “complete” overall. I see many details wich got overhault in this H2 iteration. Its not just an C for me, its a general update of that plattform. The print results are perfect.

The only thing which I’m a little afraid of is the slight power drop on the 5V or 12V rail of the internal power supply. When the right nozzle got just filament and the induction heater kicks on, the LED light bars on the top housing corners getting slightly dimmed of the high power drag in this situation. Its barely to see and you have to concentrate to see it. No chance to see it in daylight conditions. We are on 240 Volts in Germany. Does anyone have this too?

Will keep a eye on the leds next time i am next door in the netherlands so power is same if not shared :slight_smile:

Can you elaborate on what those details are. I wonder if any interesting changes were made that would justify to better sell the H2D and purchase a H2C rather than upgrade it.

Its definitly the better choice to sell the H2D. I sold mine including AMS for 1550€ after 1200 hours of printing. The upgrade Kit comes for around 900 bugs. Thats in total more than a H2C costs and you have the latest iteration with 0 hours on it.

The most important update ist the LED ring around the button on top. Joking… The toolhead is diffrent, they made some internal changes. The main gear for filament feeding which made some cracking noises after a couple of time has now a solid mounting in its shaft. They made some changes on the pcb aswell. The cpu got a heatsink. The toolhead itself is getting active cooling now. Some plastic parts on the interior are looking diffrent. The toolhead rod mounts are looking diffrent. But nothing what makes a big diffrence.

My wife does a lot more prints compared to me and she says, the quality is slightly better on the C. I do a lot of technical parts, so the left nozzle is mine with AMS HT and the right vortek with 2x AMS 2 Pro her.

This was our first H2C print for our protection dog club and a Dragon Ball Z character

This is an almost 3 day print of the 70cm tall Son Goku legs part. I choosed the less waste purge tower method, so there are some strings left on the parts, but nothing serious. We are very happy about the results

i heard this several times now and seen it a few times in reviews to assume its probably true wonder if its because of the extra cooling.

Or maybe the toolhead got lighter and has a better effect on the input shaping algo. That what can be seen as Z banding on the dogs head are artefacts of that AI based stl files

I really hope all induction design will allow them to add 4 nozzles next gen. placing them in 2x2 rows. Cheaper printers all fixed (4 tubes coming in) to compete with printers like the U1 and more expensive printers having vortek on 1 or 2 of the nozzles on the front. that would be amazing… if they can keep weight down.

Today my wife said: I bet the next iteration has Vortek on each side. Bambu Lab brought her deep into 3D printing :joy: I bet that would never happend if I stayed with the European brand.

And I cant see the H2C vs Toolchanger comparisons on YT anymore. These system issnt compareable to anything else on the market right now. Yes we want an enclosed printing chamber and yes, we dont like tons of filament spools sitting around the printer consuming a lot of space. I really like to trade time for this and dont put my money (poop) into the bin anymore.

So al the improvements are from the parts that will be replaced by the upgrade kit. Reading your post, I was wondering if more was improved elsewhere which would have been unexpected given H2D was only released 6mths ago.

My H2D hadn’t the LED Button, Bambu is well known for very fast hardware updates. The X1C had 2 Heatbed Versions, AMS One 3 updated Versions.

I got that light observing figured out. The chamber light gets slightly dimmed after the inductive right nozzle heatup kicks when filament is fed, but it recovers within 1-2 seconds. The high power drain in this situation seems to have an impact on the internal 5 or 12V rail.

Is this it or it just reduces low impact components to lower the power used

I wonder if all ams units have their own powersupply that will also offload on the main unit not just for the dryers.

I use a psu for every AMS. AMS HT has internal psu

Does anyone know why the sticker for 100-120v only is on the machine just moved mine to a 220-240 country and not sure about plugging it in psu says 100-240

Welcome to the forum.

The H series are not a multi voltage printer like the rest of the Bambu line up. The printer is configured for either 120 or 220v. Not both.
