None of consumer grade Bambu Lab printers have RJ45 network connector, that includes H2S.
Semi-professional machines (X1E and H2D Pro) have network connector.

Yea, I kinda bummed about that. Having only a WiFi connection is a bit annoying as I prefer the added security of a LAN connection. I guess I’ll be shuffling a USB memory stick back and forth.
Maybe Bambu or BTT will come out with a LAN adapter.
I agree, it’s a bit of a shame that there’s no RJ45. I have good WiFi at home, but H2S sometimes loses connection. It’s probably software-related, as all the other 100+ devices have no problems at all.
I suspect the lack of an RJ45 port is caused by compliance with current government regulations related to monitoring what users are printing. Anyone claiming otherwise is likely trying to obscure the issue.

Uhm… those laws havent passed yet.
Bambu has likely been aware of potential future regulatory requirements since the moment they required users to rely on cloud connectivity. At some point, they may have been advised that if they wanted to sell 3D printers over the next 10–20 years, certain compliance standards would need to be met — A, B, C, and so on.
Similarly, DJI introduced in-app mechanisms well before mandatory registrations became widely anticipated. Of course, everything stated here is allegedly.
I’ll be the first to say it: the DJI team may have been tasked with helping shift the industry from a largely unmonitored, garage-style space of independent thinkers and inventors into a production-ready, highly controlled enterprise environment. Their rapid success, pace of innovation, global scale, and the complexity required to achieve it suggest that broader forces could have played a role.
A similar narrative is often discussed with companies like Facebook — some argue it is difficult to believe such platforms emerged solely from a university dorm without wider support or context.

Exactly.
He is reading into it a little too much. If they are going to do any censoring, it is going to be on the software side. The addition or removal of a RJ45 ethernet port will not make much of a difference to that.
Also, since it is an available feature on other printers, I see it more likely that it is an upsetting opportunity.

I want to read more about this fictional reality where only wifi is able to be snooped upon, and not ethernet. Please, tell me more about how your choice of OSI layer 1 to bridge the space between your printer and your router, is the lynchpin of all cloud security.
fundamental misunderstanding of security scoping lol, wifi vs ethernet is a physical security issue, not a cloud security issue

Relax , everyone knows Wi-Fi is more secure because it has a password and Ethernet does not. That is the reason Bambu chose Wi-Fi over Ethernet; they had security in mind. Everyone knows the cloud is very secure since nobody has access to your data because only you have a password and the data is encrypted. That’s why I keep all my data in the cloud; keeping it locally on a drive is totally unsafe.

Is the government posting in front of your house to intercept your WiFi and check what you are printing?

A tear down video I’d seen on YouTube seemed to show a spot on one of the PCBs where an RJ45 Ethernet port and might be installed - which unfortunately suggests ist not going to be an easy “expansion” one can purchase and install.

Swapping out boards and milling a hole for a port isn’t marketable as an add on. A design change to some of the parts will be needed to allow adding an Ethernet port to the models that don’t come with them out of the box.
The H2D Pro combo with AMS 2 Pro, an AMS HT and encoder plate is around $3800.
If anyone is interested I have a new file I’ll distribute. I have to bring it right to you but it doesn’t involve a 3D printer. However, you never saw me.
