[ One might need an actual git client to get the full list… GitHub limits to first 1K entries. Or just download the whole repository as a zip file (from the front page or any of the source bundles on each release), or download the “portable” .zip version of a release and extract the resources folder… etc. Though in this case “PETG” falls within the first 1K entries! ]
Printing an otherwise glossy filament so fast that it turns out matte usually means that it didn’t properly melt, causing quite reduced layer adhesion.
I’m still testing layer adhesion regularly and so far, all BambuLab PETGs have been on the lower end. I have the feeling that they don’t care too much about it in favour of other properties. Looking forward to test the new matte as well.
The strongest filaments I have tested so far that keep up even at high speeds (20-28 mm³/s on X2D stock nozzle) are Creality Hyper PETG and dasFilament. I have a roll of the new Polymaker PETG here and waiting for Sunlu PETG 2.0 being available again in black. the Sunlu is also advertised as matte. Looks interesting, but I didn’t have the best experience with Sunlu so far.
I guess Bambu changed the json schema and my BS can’t import those from github:( PETG Matte just arrived, can someone export just the PETG Matte preset?
Don’t import them, that won’t work. Those are the same profiles as distributed directly with latest Studio version.
Instead just drop the desired JSON files into your Studio
data configuration folder* → “/system/BBL/filament” subdirectory.
E.g. AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\system\BBL\filament
Then re-start Studio if already running.
Make sure to grab the @base file version of filament profiles, as well as any printer-specific ones.
Eg. full set for an H2C:
Thanks a lot, I’m not sure what happen, brain fart I forgot BS is open source…
Apparently copying json files to /Library/Application Support/BambuStudio/system/BBL/filament doesn’t do anything, BS didn’t pick them up. I stared to dig a bit and BS loads only stuff listed in index file here: /Library/Application Support/BambuStudio/system/BBL.json
I wrote little “updater” to register those json files just run code from pastebin in Terminal
Good point, I totally forgot about adding it to the master list, sorry. And then it also need to be added to the list of filaments one has “enabled” (like other filaments) which is stored in BambuStudio.conf config file (could probably be automated with your handy script).
And now that I think about it more, the source files
