Is there a way for bambu handy to open printer that's currently printing?

Strange title but struggled to fit what I mean on it.

Basically whenever I open bambu handy it automatically opens the printer that is online/ idle.

Ideally I want it to open the printer that is currently printing so I can select the live view / check the status of it.

Seems like a small thing but it’s frustrating.

Is there a setting I can change to do this?

It should be simple by allowing the user to set a preset.
At the moment, there isn’t any way to do that, as far as I know.

I agree. This is one of those little annoyances that shall be changed. You can try and submit this into the Bambu handy GitHub. I’m not sure if anyone really pays any attention over there though. Still worth a shot.

You know you can open any device with the drop-down on the name on the printer correct? I have 2 H2D, and that’s how I manage and move between the two.

It’s an extra step yes, but you can still get to any device…

I’m not disputing I can’t get to any of my devices mate.

My feature request would be that when I fire up bambu handy, it automatically loads the printer that is currently printing.

At the moment it absolutely always fires up the printer that is idle. Which is not much use to me. I’m firing up the app to see what the printing printer is doing. Not what the idle printer is doing.

Ha! I hear you. But they can barely get it functioning the way it is… Just being honest as a fellow user! I agree completely! But hey, lol, what can we do…

Obviously their software end is, shall we say “a good bit slower” than hardware… I’m not lowering my expectations, but at the same time, they haven’t shown much “light at the end of the tunnel” on anything that seems to “make sense for the end user” in quite a while… I honestly don’t know dude…

Mine seems a little different. No matter what mine opens to the Mini. I have 4 printers and no matter what I’m doing it always opens to the Mini. I feel your pain.

what if you have multiple printers printing…

It can remember the last printer that were active, choosing the inactive is probably for those who just want to start a one-click job. So a more flexible way here would be nice.

It seems to just Willy Nilly honestly. Sometimes, for me it goes to the last active, and sometimes it goes to the default in my “addition” stack(which one I added under my profile first)…

It just depends on what mood it’s in at the moment, lol… As crazy as it sounds… And it’s been that way, for as long as I can remember (as OP stated)…

I opened mine 3 times yesterday at an event to show the H2S printing, always the Mini.
I have 3 of four printing now, opens the Mini which isn’t printing. I have never, ever seen Handy open to any printer other than the Mini.

When i had handy installed, I remember that the given name [editable] of the printer was the only way to reorder/ effected the position of it on the list. Is it just alphabetic?

Sort of.
3 of the printers are Cooley .5, 1, 2
MacDaddy is the H2. I could rename them, but by now it’s become “normal” if you will when we are talking about idle, printing and que.
First world problems really. All of it. It’s just one of those tiny little things that pluck a nerve when you experience the issue.

One extra step. See any printer. See any printer running. Zero issues with the App. this is a total non issue

I didn’t say there was an issue with the app. Just it would be a nice feature to have implemented.
