When I import a file I always had a pop up menu asking about inches or millimeters.
I clicked yes once and the model was changed drastically.
Now I don’t get that pop up message and certain models get really messed up.
I’ve searched everywhere in the program and can’t find any way to undo it. It doesn’t do it to all the files I import which is strange.
Does anyone know how to undo this?
Even though it may seem that way, this isn’t actually a Bambu Studio issue, but rather an export problem with the program you’re using.
What software do you use to create your 3D models?
How do you export them, and in what file format?
Feel free to include photos and also to upload the 3mf file shown in the photo to the forum so we can test it out.
By the way, there’s no option to turn this on or off; I assume that at some point you either saved it in your file or something changed in the export settings of your actual CAD / 3D program.
Here’s what you can try in the meantime: “Import geometry only”
When you open a file, it checks the scaling/units and if it appears the units could be wrong, it will pop up that question, and then proceed to open the file.
If you allow it to change the units, only the scale should change, nothing else.
I honestly suspect there may be something else wrong with the file, and that geometry issue you’re seeing is due to that, not the prompt.
I’m using fusion360 and I export them in 3MF format.
I’ve printed this model from that export version and it printed like it should.
I haven’t updated fusion lately either.
The underlying problem: When exporting from Fusion, the correct dimensions were not specified. This has nothing to do with Bambu Studio; it happens in both old and new versions - it’s a classic Fusion export error.
Take a look at your sketches to see if you’ve mixed up mm, inches, or whatever, or left something undefined - for example, off by one decimal place.
By the way, that’s also strange - why was it exported as a bunch of individual parts, and not even labeled? Something is fundamentally wrong here?
Is it possible that you used a faulty SVG vector (logo) as a basis?
Something is seriously wrong here, but it has nothing to do with Bambu Studio. Try searching in the direction of Fusion. Your 3mf looks corrupted somehow. That’s why Bambu Studio does such weird things.
