Issue whilst printing (obviously)

Hi and sorry, completely new to this.

I work at a school and have been asked to get our Bambu X1 Carbon working. Alongside this unit we have the AMS attached, with 4 reels inserted.

We only have two plates (and I think one of these is damaged) and both plates are Cool Plates.

A couple of students created some objects and I had the printer produce these on Friday without issue.

Today I tried their next models and the whole system seemed fine but the printer stopped when it detected bits on the plate. The two objects being created looked like spaghetti (I feel that a whole society is going “we know what’s wrong here!”).

I cleared the worktop and tried again; same result. Not really a surprise but…

I’m assuming this is down to the reels we are using? These were already in place, so I cannot give any details on these, beyond the fact that the builds were using black, purple and white.

Try cleaning the plate with warm water and a detergent, scrub it gently to remove all those oily marks from the plate, oil and finger prints increase adhesion issues to the plate. After that I suggest running a quick test print for build plate adhesion and see if there’s improvement. Check out this link: Bambu Lab Textured PEI Plate Cleaning Guide | Bambu Lab Wiki

Next step would be to run some calibrations, start of by doing a full printer calibration (bed leveling, motor noise calibration, lidar calibration and resonance frequency calibration), then move over to filament calibration which I assume you are performing (from the picture you posted). If the filament rolls have been sitting for a while, drying the filament should help as well, and it’s widely recommended.
