A week ago my 5 month old P1S started making a creaking sounds when moving from the back to the printer to the front. Along with this, the prints are or coming out rough and the top and bottom layers are not tight. Not sure if that is the correct wording. You can see where the prints on the front part of the print bed are not next to each other. I Took the right side and back panel because it is that side of the printer you can hear the creak. I could not find anything noticeably wrong.
It only does it when moving from back to front and seems to start when it gets a little over half way from the back to the front. The print head can be anywhere left or right, that makes no difference.
This is not a squeak, this is a grinding noise. I followed the procedures to adjust the tension on the belts and that had no effect. I wish I could post a video I took but we can not upload videos from what I can see.
Has anyone else had this issue and can give me some guidance?
thanks

Here is an image of what the first layer does. I have a video but no way to post it.
Try running full calibration, however the issue seems to be debris in the belts or something of that type.
If you upload the file to google drive first you can upload the video via google drive, that would be much more helpfull.
So I did all the maintance that I could. Clean and greased the rods. Oiled the pulleys without getting grease on the belts. After that I did a calibration and cleaned the build plate. I did this same procedure on my other 3 P1S and they run clean. Now none of them make this creaking sound.
Video of issue
The more I listen to it it sounds like it is coming from the left side of the printer and I can not tell if it is coming from the back or that bracket that is in the video. It only happens coming from the front
Here are several more printing.
it is really bad. It the first one it starts about the 50 second mark. I wanted to show when it starts.

You should probably file a support ticket, especially since the machine is only 5 months old.
Ya I did that, a couple days ago, no response yet. I took that whole side apart the best I could and didn’t see anything that was wrong. I moved the head back and fourth and the pulleys that are hidden by the from didn’t show issues as well.
Lost here. As you can see, the prints are suffering from it.
It kind of sounds like gears skipping
Could it maybe be an issue with one of the motors?
hmmm, that may be. I can not see them, they are inclosed. I do not see the belts slipping on the pulleys so that could be it.
it is on the right side of the printer, that I do know
I will give it a shot. If that doesn’t fix it, I have a spare part. Since I have 4 of these I will need it eventually. I heard back from support, they want a video and make sure I cleaned and greased the XY rods… did that and uploaded new videos. lets see what they say.

Found the issue with no help from support. again…
The bad quality AND creaks are not related… NOT RELATED. After tons of playing around it was sounding more that the guide that runs along the X/Y rod was what was making the sound. I used Machine oil and lubricated the rod and poof, creak was gone. well 95% of it anyways.
Then I was like it has to be something with the flow of the filament. Did a flow calibration again and still had horrible prints.
Decided to do a cold pull to see if the nozzel with clogged. That is when I found the issue.
The nozzle was bent. Not sure how it happened, it was working perfectly before I did the maint on it. the only thing I can think off is after I greased the Z-scews and went and did the calibration, it didn’t know where the bed was and jammed the nozzel down on it.

Did you by any chance put the anti-vibration feet on your printer? Those anti-vibration feet are very soft silicone and the printer can rock quite a bit as the toolhead makes travel moves compared to standard feet.
Nope, no addons to these printers. All stock except for one where I put a harden steel nozzle
Just a thought. If you think about putting on those anti-vibration feet, I’d advise against it. I took mine off probably less than 24 hours after installing and generally people on this forum give a
to that particular upgrade.
