With over 4000 hours on this x1c I have changed out my share of parts.
Major stumped after a couple of days.
Clogged nozzle: Cleared it. Nothing new
Then it decided something was still stuck in the extruder.
Removed and cleaned. Did not replace the gears as those are 1 month old.
That didn’t work.
Changed out the extruder sensor.
That didn’t work
Sigh, so I changed out the extruder interface board
That made it worse. I now get the following message on start up.
Nothing on that list is true so what am I supposed to look for now?
As a young pup I was admiring the hammer work of a carpenter. I asked how he got so good at that.
He paused and said “you just gotta be smarter than the hammer.”
Fixed it.
After taking a supper break I kept asking myself what all these errors had in common as I had already gone through each piece separately. It was the extruder interface board but what and why?
I took a much closer look and realized that the ribbon connector wasn’t seated correctly. I had to pretty much do it by feel rather than how it looked. Look at the back side of the ribbon to understand this.
Locked it down, no errors and passed calibration.
Ya just gotta be smarter than the hammer.
