First lesson…dont open the door and stick your hand in when the calibration has only 5 minutes left. The printer will detect it and error, requiring to do the calibration again! :face_with_peeking_eye:

Congrats on the new printer!

Also, I never knew that calibration would detect that. I’m guessing the door opening triggers the detection. I learned something new today :slight_smile:

Some things I’d do (completely depends on your situation): scoot the printer a bit further down the right of the table so you have space to put in other things like the poop bin for the printer, extra AMS if you’re thinking of getting them.

I’d personally not have my AMS on the H2D, since the H2D jiggles a lot when the toolhead is swinging from one side of the gantry to the other since of how heavy it is. The AMS put a bit more weight on the top. I don’t know if this decreases quality, but I js think its more safe. These are better to be placed on a personalized rack to stack AMS units on top eachother (which your table looks like its the perfect size for).

But yeah that’s just about it for now.

Thanks a million. I moved it a bit and need to print a bin and a few accessories in the next few days. I tried to move the AMS onto the shelf behind, but the ptfe tube is not long enough so I’ll have to sort that out also. Thanks again. Any advice appreciated. :slightly_smiling_face:

1st print went awesome with petg but the TPU was a big (little) mess! Turns out that the resistance from my polydryer box was preventing the extruder pulling the tpu through correctly. When I pulled a bit extra out of the box and left it hanging behind the printer it worked great. Another thing for me to sort out!

This machine is just incredible. It really love it. So happy I dont seem to have received a dud! :crossed_fingers: :+1:

The extra wobble is due to the super soft anti-vibration feet on the H2D. It makes it dance like crazy, but it doesn’t effect the print quality. It’s designed that way to reduce noise and vibration passing through to the surface the printer sits on. It’s a lot of mass slinging around. The AMS’s on top do add to the top weight, but won’t cause any issues. Remember these printers are designed to have AMS’s sit on top.

Quick question…does the H2D ship with hardened or stainless steel nozzles installed? I am printing some ABS GF and changed it to a new hardened one just in case, but not sure which type the one I removed is? The one on the right with the bit of black PLA sticking out is the one it came with. Is this also hardened?

PS. I did check online and read that it comes with hardened, but the finish on these two look different… :thinking:

As already mentioned, keeping your AMS on top of the printer can cause issues when printing high-temperature filaments, especially if you have PLA loaded in the AMS. Heat rising from the printer can soften the PLA and lead to feeding problems.

The H2D ships with hardened nozzles. There are no non-hardened 0.4mm nozzles for the H2D available.
Only the 0.2mm nozzles are stainless steel.
