It's been over 8 months, how about that rotary Axis Bambu?

Seriously, are you ever going to make good on that promise in your advertised materials and finish the rotary axis?

100% agree!

I have three major complaints about the laser in my H2S all of which are waiting on Bambu:

  1. Rotary tool - I would use my laser a lot more if I could engrave tumblers, etc in a full or partial wrap without distortion.
  2. H2S doesn’t appear to be getting curved surface engraving. I would have sworn that this was on the feature page when I bought the H2S combo. Essentially it makes the Rotary tool mandatory for tumblers, etc to avoid distortion and proper laser focusing on the sides.
  3. Bambu Suite could use a lot of love. I’ve been playing with another laser brand’s software (XCS) and of course it is more mature, but even the workflow seems to be smoother.

Anyway, I still love my H2S and how versatile it is. I knew getting a combined 3d printer/laser would have personal tradeoffs, but I hadn’t suspected that the tradeoff would be the lack of attention from the manufacturer.

Anyway, this is about the Rotary Accessory. When the hell is it coming?

You can forget about the rotary tool for the H2D, at least for the foreseeable future. They will likely discontinue the H2D long before the rotary accessory is ever released. All their focus at the moment seems to be directed toward making every H2C customer happy, while we who already paid for our machines and are now out of the return window appear to be of no importance anymore. At least that’s my experience with this circus they call customer care and keeping promises.

With the release of the automatic fire suppression system being advertised WITH an H2D, I doubt what @L0rdS474n said, but not saying it isn’t possible. Obviously things become obsolete and I’m sure many of the people who bought X1 for their print farms are really mad right now due to the unpredictable support for all the replacement parts.

There are 3 4-pin cable inlets on the H2 machines. 1 on the inside and 2 on the outside, and regarding the fact the Laser plate is compatible with all H2 machines (even though the build plate itself is not), this rotary tool could arguably be FOR the H2C customers. Plus, Bambu can’t ignore the 4-pin cable inlet on the inside of the machine forever, because again, right now Bambu is hinged towards the H2C, and guess what? it has that 4-pin cable inlet on the inside as well!

A couple months is how long I predict, 2 months at least, Edit: at most is probably the end of this year, and even then, this is just what I think is most likely. I’m guessing the reason why they delayed this was due to the firmware, and as we all know, Bambu really likes to bite before it can chew (as in it keeps making hardware the firmware team always needs to catch up with).

Just wait and see, wait and see…

Still waiting for fully functional enhanced hotend cooling fan support; yes, the printer detects it, but that is as far as it goes for now. Q1 will be over faster than they expect.

I do not believe it was Bambu Lab’s brightest idea to release five new machines that all need support, given how few staff members they appear to have.

…a hotend cooling fan that will ultimately save them both work and money, since they will no longer need to replace failed hotend cooling fans under warranty (hopefully).

2 months, or the end of the year, or maybe next year.

Hey, at least its not a matter of if, just when

Hey RedDiamond,

“Not a matter of if, just when, huh?”

Given Bambu’s current track record on timelines and “promised” goodies, that is some impressively optimistic confidence right there. One might almost suspect you have access to an internal roadmap, a crystal ball, or an unholy pact with their product managers.

From the outside, it looks more like: feature teases that drag on, promotional gifts that never quite reach everyone no matter how many times the issue is raised, and a backlog of half-finished commitments quietly piling up in the corner. So now the real curiosity is: how can you be so sure it’s not “if” but “when,” and is there a secret memo the rest of us missed—or are we just speed‑running the five stages of Bambu announcements again?

In politics there is a proverb: “just wait, it will surely happen in just two more weeks!”

https://us.store.bambulab.com/pages/promotions/X1CMaintenanceParts.

Well, that’s my argument lol.

People kept pushing and pressuring Bambu to keep their promise of reliable replacement parts? They do. I’m so happy when my comments age so well.

Well it isn’t all sunshine and lollypops, but this was probably the biggest thing everyone complained about ever since the firmware update controversy of shutting down on 3rd party stuff (and even then, they also tried to make up for it by making software for orca support, again, not ideal, but they didn’t HAVE to do that, they did that for us) You could also argue that them doing that update in the first place was messed up in its own right, which I wouldn’t argue with.

I never said it was impossible you to be correct, but They promised Tungsten carbide nozzles, we got tungsten carbide nozzles (and before the H2C came out as well!). They promised the H2C on a specific date (even if that was just because of formnext), we got it on that specific date. We even got that fire suppression system that people have been waiting for since the release of the H2D. The problem isn’t them fulfilling these promises, the problem is them MAKING the promises, since causing all this hype is more of Bambu lab giving itself a deadline to do stuff than to ensure maximum sales on release, and also all the aftereffects of rushing your work.

And then if they don’t meet the deadline, hype dies off. And dead hype is worse than no hype. To add onto this, you know how nobody asked for the P2S to be a thing? well, they sure made it a thing, and it was a good success. They clearly don’t have to hype up anything, but the reason for this is the exact same reason on why every other company that gains success so quickly and too early.

Sorry if I sounded overconfident, there is definitley a possibility they don’t.

RedDiamond, I appreciate your perspective on the promise vs. delivery issue, and you’re making a valid point about managing expectations.

However, I’d like to challenge the prioritization aspect: Were tungsten carbide nozzles really more critical than, say, the rotary tool that was promised alongside the laser functionality? Or more importantly—were they more urgent than fixing the Enhanced Hotend Cooling Fan support for existing H2D customers who are dealing with premature fan failures due to heat issues?

The tungsten nozzles were a nice-to-have upgrade, absolutely. But the enhanced cooling fan function addresses an actual hardware reliability problem affecting machines already in the field. People are experiencing failed hotend cooling fans on their H2D units right now, and while the printer detects the upgraded fan, the functionality remains incomplete.

Similarly, the rotary accessory wasn’t just a marketing promise—it was advertised as part of the laser ecosystem. For those who bought the H2S specifically for laser engraving with the expectation of cylindrical object support, this isn’t just about “hype management”; it’s about completing the advertised feature set.

So while I agree that Bambu should be more conservative with their announcements, the real question becomes: when they do make promises, shouldn’t they prioritize fixing issues for existing customers (like the cooling fan problem) and completing advertised features (like the rotary tool) before moving on to the next shiny thing?

Just my two cents as someone still waiting for both the rotary tool and fully functional cooling fan support. :slightly_smiling_face:

L0rdS474n you have said it here far better than I could ever have. I’d move this to the top of the thread if
I could and get rid of my post.

We are sorry for the long wait. We wanted to take the extra time to make sure the experience is truly great before making the product available.

The good news is that we are very close to launch, and we expect everyone who is interested to be able to place an order around mid February.

To help make the wait a little easier, we have included a few examples below showing what you can create with the rotary engraving tool.

Thank you so much for your patience and support while we put the finishing touches on everything!

love the watch, and the engravings ;p

What’s the material in the second and third photo?

The second one looks really cool.

But I guess there is a multi layer color coating on there that exposes the correct color based on number of passes, power settings or speed.

I guess some if those parts end up in the material store.

With the 40 W diode in the H2D you can do dark marking on stainless and some heat‑color effects, but not the precise, repeatable multi‑color marking you get from a fiber laser. It works much better for multi‑layer plywood/laminates where different laser power just exposes different color layers.

This doesn’t say anything when H2D will acutally get the functionality, we have an enchanced hotend cooling fan that maybe will get support in firmware Q1 2026 but just maybe. So when will H2D get that support?

Curved surface engraving absolutely was on Bambu’s marketing material/on the H2S page when I ordered. It was something I really thought was beneficial.

With the Vortek upgrade kit turning these into H2Cs, I’m wondering if they will offer us a cheap laser upgrade path for those that have it? @SupportAssistant, has this been thought of yet for those of us with H2Ss who can not get a feature that was advertised to us?

Daaaaaanannnggg. I hadn’t realized this when I opted to put my upgrade kit on a H2S instead of a H2D. I wanted to fiddle with that feature.

I was told by support that it was coming to the H2S, but that was months ago. Has it been stated anywhere why it wouldn’t work on the H2S?
