Just set up my P1S with 2 AMS, but print didn't use both?

I have a P1S with the standard AMS that I just added an AMS 2 Pro to. I followed the instructions for setting up the hub, and have the AMS 2 Pro connected to the top filament feed on the AMS Hub and plugged into the AMS Hub. I have my original AMS daisy chained to the AMS 2 Pro and the filament line going into the second from top filament hole. I can see both AMS in Bambu Studio with all the filaments mapped correctly and ran it through the slicer with 5 filaments used. My print uses all 4 filaments from the AMS 2 Pro and 1 filament from the original AMS (the filament in the 4th slot, if it matters). Unfortunately, when I printed, it printed with the 5th filament (the one from the original AMS) replaced with the 1st filament of the AMS 2 Pro.

Any idea why this happened and how I can fix it?

When you press the print option, you will be presented with the print window.

This is the one I wish to see.

You should see five swatches, based on your description, one for each filaments you have used in your model.

Do these show a matched colour for each?

It should show a matching colour and swatch code.

A1-A4 and B1-B4.

Based on what you described, you should see: B1, B2, B3 & B4 plus at least one from A.

If you do not see the correct matches, select a swatch to see the 8 AMS slots you should have and select the correct ones for each in turn.

  • If you only see less than five swatches, you do not have five different colours in your model, fix that.
  • If you do not have matches, you may wish to fix the filament pool in the prepare tab.
  • Make sure the device tab shows the correct filaments in the two AMS units.

Yep, what you describe is what I see on the print screen. It all matches what I would expect to see listed for the filament slots and colors.

It looks like it should be sending the correct information.

We need to test it on something that will not be a huge waste of filament if it fails again.

I have create a test model using your colours (although I guessed the shades), match them if they do not do so automatically.

You are just looking for one colour per band and five colours in total.

I have turned off the prime tower as it is not required for this and would just be another waste of material.

  • Black
  • Orange
  • White
  • Blue
  • Pink

Make sure it prints in this order.

For some reason when I open that file it’s showing as a single color column? It loaded as all black and just swapped to all white even after I updated the filaments.

It will do, just slice it.

I used Layer height modifiers to do it.

Oops, I didn’t do it in exactly the same order as you said to print it, but it does seem to have printed the 5 colors. Weird.

Does this mean I can try reprinting, or should I do another test first?

The order was only to make sure all five printed.

As your real print is long, I would try another test print to be sure.

Then try the original job and triple check everything matches.

No idea what caused the original failed print, but after printing your test tower twice without issues I’ve now printed a couple of successful runs of my original model! Thank you!
