Making my first attempts at printing ABS (Polylite ABS in black), and after a few Benchies, I’ve managed to dial in nozzle temp (270C), bed temp (100C), and print speeds down to the 80-100mm/s range. Getting good first layers, but after 20-30 layers, quality starts to drop.
After a bit more reading, it seems that ABS really likes 45-50C chamber temps… so I’ve turned off all fans, have the chamber closed, etc, after reading that ABS likes a warm chamber. Also stuck a thermohygrometer on the far wall so I can monitor the chamber temp after reading that it is best to preheat the chamber with a 100C plate to get that temp up.
However, after starting my print, the chamber temp dropped like a rock back to ambient. After checking fan speeds… all 3 fans had been turned on during the start up procedure, and then I watched as they all turned off at the start of the print.
How do I stop the P1s from turning the fans on like that during the startup procedures?
