Correct, spaghetti detection function is connected to the cloud although we’ve been told it is done on board.
Firmware updates currently have to be done via wifi.
The AMS works for multi-colour offline printing. You can use Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer (3rd Party slicer) to generate gcode and load it via SD Card, FTP or LAN mod.
The printer can be controlled and monitored via Bambu slicer remotely using LAN mode.
I don’t think Octoprint will ever be supported by Bambu printers unless Octoprint develops compatibility on their end.
I’ve been involved in 3d printing for over a decade and the X1C is the first printer I pulled out of the box and started printing with. No hassle, no fuss. It’s quick and makes great parts. It’s a tool not a project.
If cloud Spaghetti detection, cell phone monitoring and lack of Octoprint are still a deal breaker then this printer isn’t for you. That’s totally okay.
