Large layer shift after manual pause!

During a recent print, I noticed some buildup on the nozzle. I pressed the pause button on the screen, cleaned off the nozzle, and pressed resume. When the head moved back to printing, it had shifted about 2mm to the left (as shown in the image below). Never had this happen before.
Since this started, I have adjusted the tension of the XY belts, replaced my Z belt, and checked for any random machine g-code changes (slicer had default pause code). I can’t get rid of the layer shifting.

All the topics I’ve read about in the forums seem related to pause for filament change. However, this is only when I use the pause on-screen. Any ideas?

IIRC the pause on screen has a homing sequence built into it? IE after a pause the head moves to the very front right corner before continuing on with the print?

Check to make sure your machine can fully home correctly. Often too short of PTFE tube (or 3rd party PTFE guide) will not allow the printer to fully home and so whenever a homing sequence is called the printer will show a layer shift because it can’t actually get to the home position but thinks it has.

To check the homing sequence power off the printer and slowly move the print head to the front right corner.

During a print on the X1C, when you press the on-screen pause button, the print head moves back to the poop chute location. When you press the resume button, it moves back to the print.

Hello same problem.
I define a pause on Bambu Studio to insert a magnet, the print head moves back to the poop chute location, but when I press “Play button”, the head had shifted about 10 mm to the left!
Same problem, with color change of filament.
Please help, thank’s.

Welcome to the forum.

A layer shift like this is often caused by either too short of a PTFE tube or by added “mods” which limit the head movement. Things like PTFE guides, stepper covers, purge chute covers etc.

Unplug the printer, take the top off and slowly move the head to all 4 corners to see when is causing the issue.
