I haven’t had the exhaust running yet… for those of you that have, how adequate is it? I’m thinking about installing a dryer vent in my office this weekend to vent it outside.
It looks the in line filter might boost airflow? Is the built in flow strong enough?
I have only used the hose that I popped out the window. I have cut a lot of wood and it smells (I mainly smell it when going outside and entering the house again). Not sure if it is the fumes entering back into the room through the slightly opened window (at least 150cm of hose is outside) or just a non-adequate flow through the built-in fan but I expect it to work a lot better with the filter unit connected.
Its probably recirculating in and out of the open window, since theres nowhere else to pull air from. Probably one big loop between printer and window. You would have to seal the window opening around the duct and introduce a new supply of air from a different window. Or, if you own the house, install a dryer vent in the wall
Think it has enough flow to clear itself through a dryer vent… maybe 2 feet of hose?
Mine is able to push through the big external filter, with the external fan turned off. Still enough flow to keep chamber temps low while printing pla.
They also make window vent kits for sliding windows that will seal off the window. I use one on the rare occasion I’m spraying lacquers in my paint booth.
