Lastest BBLS version: Can no longer load .step modifiers

So I updated a short while back and the model Im working on needs to be able to load the mofifiers independently
When I actually load ANY step file its asking me for resolution info but not previoulsy, i hit dont show again

Now when I try and add modifier which is step it says “Failed to get model in the current file”?

Nothing has changed in modelling etc in fact some are files that loaded fine before. Showstopper…again

I tried in orca, no problems and when the import of a full file happens it does not respect the component heirarchy and splits everything vs Orca doing it properly

Which version number are you having this issue with?

Check for updates says newest

Here are a list of previous releases if you prefer to roll back.

Yeah might need to…BBLS just seems to do this model better than orca although a bit slower

ie its very slow to import even

@benjaminkott was noted as identifying and helping with the Step import issue in 1.10.1 Perhaps he can weigh in on your modifier issue.

Thanks Jon
Dont really have time to muck around…appreciate your help. Will do a quick rollback but I have orca to do the job as plan B.

I just cant get identical prints ie the same as from BBLS (not for all models)

I could replicate the issue, and I am using the public Beta Version 1.10.2.64 and never pressed “don’t show again”, so it must not be related.

As a workaround, either go with the previous version shared by @JonRaymond, or you can try:

  • import step file;
  • merge with your current file;
  • change the imported file type to modifier;
    It worked for me. It takes two additional actions, but simpler ones.

I will submit the problem on their GitHub page.

It all worked seamlessly in Orca…until I tried to print and despite being a couple of gigs free says no space

Ill try the beta…
