I am running the latest version of Bambu Studio on a high‑end laptop that handles Fusion 360 and other heavy CAD/CAM applications without any issues, yet Studio behaves as if it is running on a decade‑old office machine. The UI stutters, briefly freezes, and even simple actions like camera moves or parameter changes feel sluggish, while system monitors show that CPU and RAM usage are nowhere near maxed out. Slicing times are also unreasonably long for relatively simple models compared to other modern slicers, which makes the whole workflow unnecessarily slow.
Given that this is a modern, commercial tool, I would have expected more focus on performance optimization, especially since there are now multiple reports that Studio can generate an abnormally high number of page faults and severely degrade overall system responsiveness, even when it is just sitting in the background. At the moment it feels like each major update risks introducing new regressions instead of improving the core experience.
The storage handling is also quite confusing: when a USB drive is connected, the software still prioritizes the printer’s internal storage, which is not properly manageable or accessible from within Studio. This leads to unclear separation between internal and external storage, difficulty accessing files, and a workflow that feels unfinished, despite repeated user feedback asking for clearer control over USB versus internal storage.
Support has also become more problematic recently: models that previously sliced without any issues now fail with errors about unexpected nozzle changes or nozzle configuration problems, even though neither the hardware nor the profiles have been changed by the user. This raises the question of what exactly has been altered in recent Studio/slicer versions that makes previously working projects fail at slicing without clear guidance on how to resolve the issue.
Is anyone else seeing the same behavior in the latest Bambu Studio/Bambu Suite release – extremely sluggish performance, confusing storage logic, and new, unexplained slicing errors on models that used to be fine? It would be highly appreciated if Bambu Lab could prioritize performance, robustness, and basic usability before adding more features, and provide better diagnostic information so users can understand what is actually going wrong in the slicer.
