I upgraded today and started having crazy bed adhesion issues. It was hard to diagnosis because it wasn’t happening every print and if I moved items around the bed it sometimes worked. I ran a test and it was a disaster so I went on FB group and saw others talk about the issue. I downgraded and it back to it’s old self.
Thanks for heads up, I won’t be upgrading my firmware for now, got some prints to make
On what FB group people are reporting issues with this firmware?
My A1 mini now has a Z gap between nozzle and Smooth PEI plate too big, so filament strands show. I can’t obtain a perfect and continuous plain surface.
Could you please provide more details about this?
The latest version of the firmware has been tested and the issue cannot be reproduced. Have you tried to perform a full calibration after the new firmware?
It is also recommended to wash the plate with warm water and detergent, to ensure the plate is clean and free of any grease or debris.
I did all the things. as you can see in my picture I even tried using one of your test. I rolled back last night and every print has been flawless like we are used too. The only change was the Firmware. Same bed same file etc.
I feel like I am in so many I don’t remember which ones I saw it. All I know is my prints have been flawless since downgrading.
Thanks for pointing this out, now that you mentioned it, yesterday I had problems with ironing the nozzle was not lower enough to get it done. I will downgrade my firmware too. Thank you.
Same with me i tried a few things but my prints kept failing
!
Cleaned my bed
Changed desiccant
Rolled back firmware and it was fine
Will have to rollback too. Apart from some offset problems too, today in 3 different prints happened something peculiar.
Started the print, let it home, head goes to the side to purge and do the flow calibration. And it sitted there for more than 30 minutes the first time. I found strange that i didn’t hear the printer and went to check and i had LOTS but really, LOTS of black pla poop. The machine was there almost 30 minutes “calibrating flow” until i stopped it.
Tried again, same result but i only let her do that for 10 minutes. Same happened.
Third time i tried another model, another profile and same happened.
Trying to figure this one out as we speak. There were no changes in the machine, profile or models. The only change i made was the firmware update. Today the machine printed well before updating and the same for yesterday. Must be something triggering Flow Calibration that fails and gets into a loop.
For context, PLA used was Bambu PLA Basic Black, Yellow, Red and White. They all did the same from my tests.
Omg thank you, I was banging my head trying to figure out WTF was going on. I’m going to roll back now.
Can confirm this happened to me yesterday. Before the firmware update I think I has something like 23 straight successful prints and after my both my printers upgraded, the very next 5 prints all failed on the first layer. Had to revert firmware and now it’s printing great. Hopefully we’ll get a second update here soon but for now I’m not touching this one
How do you uninstall the firmware? I have been having the same issue and i was getting so frustrated.
I upgraded mine, did a full calibration, haven’t noticed any difference in adhesion to textured plates.
I updated mi A1 and my A1-Mini today and ran them all day doing many multiple prints with no issues at all. The usual wash the plate with hot water and Dawn dish washing soap and a hot rinse is always worth a try.
To revert the firmware on a Bambu A1, you can:
- Open the settings in the Bambu Handy app
- Select Firmware Version
- Tap Downgrade Firmware to Previous Version
- Select the firmware version you want to revert to
- Tap Confirm
Those with first layer problems, can you post the plate you are using?
I only have problems with the Smooth PEI plate.
Mine works fine but I only use the supplied textured plates. I don’t think I even own a smooth plate yet for these. I just checked and I did buy the dual textured/smooth plates when I ordered my printers but never even opened the package yet as the textured plates work great.
They do, but sometimes a really smooth finish is wanted in the printed part.
This was the first time I had updated my printers firmware since getting it, and I’m a stickler for reading patch notes out of curiosity, and I’m very glad I did. I updated after a failed print, and then tried a print with this new firmware only to get the exact described adhesion issues. Very very glad I checked online first otherwise I’d have been going mental thinking it’s something I’m consistently doing wrong, rather than just a one off failed print!
