Thanks for posting this! I’ve been doing a lot of large prints with rather thin bases on them and suddenly started having adhesion so strong that the bases were ripping rather than separating from the plate.
I initially put this down to the PETG+HS filament I was using and the plate (PEI Textured) needing a wash. This didn’t really make sense given the number of previously successful prints and I didn’t even think to consider the firmware update being the problem until seeing this thread.
Reverted the update and my prints are back to normal now.
Having issues with my P1S , i thought i was going crazy, i blamed the filament , i tried glue, i have to baby sit alot of the prints , but most of them fail. I even went off changing my hotend thinking it was that. Good thing im not going crazy and its a software issue. Thanks!
Most often a factory reset seems to fix the issue without having to downgrade the firmware. With that in mind, my guess would be the bed leveling table data has some type of corruption or issue as a result of the firmware update. I haven’t ever been able to reproduce the issue with my printers (X/P series)
I know the feeling, but let’s not be too “never-y”. Firmware updates are there for a reason and can and do fix issues. In this case seems like not enough beta-testing happened, next update should be smoother.
Having a programming background myself: This!
You never can test everything. The possible permutations in a software as complex as BambuStudio are beyond a human’s scope. A good error culture involves admitting the error and taking measures to prevent it from occurring again in the future. And even then, mistakes can be made again.
I have also had a 100% failure rate since firmware update. Most aren’t adhering to the bed, but some have failed about 15mm up, the print head knocked the top few layers off. There is something seriously wrong with the Z axis locating on this update.
FWIW, I’ve printed several different models since installing this firmware update on my A1 Mini and haven’t had any issues.
Not saying that the other posters are exagerating. But maybe there are other factors involved and the firmware update is only triggering something for some people now?
I think it would be great if Bambu would specify the changes made to the firmware a little bit more in the changelog than just for example „improved print stability“. This way, if some users have problems after an update, they can better associate these problems with the update.
For me it’s hit and miss. I’ll print something and it doesn’t stick to the plate, lifts a little then has a curled corner. Another lifted enough it hit the nozzle and pushed the whole part across the bed. Moved it to it’s own plate and it didn’t have an issue. I haven’t done a full calibration yet so will try that before rolling back.
