My printer came with 01.00.01.00 and it immediately said that some components are not compatible with that firmware. I see on here that 01.01.01.00 is in beta but I can’t find where I can download the 01.01.00.00 firmware for the H2C.
I want to do an offline update because I would like avoid creating a cloud account.

H series printers have never had the firmware downloadable to do a DIY upgrade … the feature is there, however not available.
you’ll either have to put up with the firmware mismatch if it works or create a cloud account… you can alwasy log out after firmware update of course.

On the first print ever, there were a few loud pops from below the printer and then some smoke came out and the printer turned itself off. I think I’ll be returning it since it’s only 2 day since I’ve had it.
Not true, H2D and H2S firmwares are available. It takes some time for the latest release to be available but they eventually are made available. H2C firmware upgrades will come as well.
That’s for released firmwares, betas are never available for download

Bump! @SupportAssistant Please help fix this if you can. I’ve already filed a support ticket when I first got my H2C in early December… and they “promised” to post the firmware downloads. Now we’re one more version deep, and a fresh beta, and no downloadable version.
And my printer bugs me for updates every time I mount a brand new induction nozzle. Extra annoying.
Not only is it annoying to switch out of LAN mode for updates (and for some it’s a no-go at all), but a) I’d like a backup copy to downgrade if needed and b) I’d like to verify the download is complete before sticking it in the printer. My computers can download files very reliably and with more control/feedback/etc.
On that last point, I also suggested to support that BL post file hashes for their downloads, especially sensitive things like firmware. That way users can really verify what they downloaded before feeding it to their babies. 
(And I hope the printer itself has some kind of verification method already.)

During the upgrade from the H2D to the H2C one of the biggest problems was that bambu required that you install Handy and have the printer on your network with Internet access.
I’ve been using this thing in LAN only mode and I have not been using any of the additional software other than the slicer. (When you sniff the network traffic, the printer loves to go to China and I’m not so interested in having it try to get to China all the time.)
Because the firmware was not available from Bambu like it is for the H2D and others, it also made the upgrade process a bit more tedious; if you can slap the firmware upgrade on a USB stick and tell it to upgrade the printer, that makes everything a lot more seamless when you’re performing major surgery as opposed to trying to run around and figure out how the heck you’re supposed to update the printer.
To be clear: during the upgrade process where you install all of the H2C hardware the printer does not work properly and generate a boatload of errors until it actually gets the latest firmware.
Bambu did a generally good job related to the instructions for the upgrade process, but that wasn’t entirely clear. From a Customer Service standpoint, you would expect them to have taken that into consideration. It is definitely a little strange that they don’t make that one specific model of printers firmware available for off-line update. (the firmwarepackage includes the firmware for not only the AP board on the printer but also every single thing connected to the printer has to be the proper firmware, including any AMS or AMSHT devices.)
Agreed! Trying to resolve a AMS retraction issue which I believe is due to the old firmware and cannot update as my printer does not have OTA access. Since none of the released firmwares are available for download I am stuck. I contacted support and they also told me H2C firmwares are not available for download yet there are 3 released versions listed in their release history page! The last one was yesterday [01.01.05.00 (20260211)] ! I am still in the return period for my printer so this may be going back to the store followed up by some in depth negative comments about this experience and suggestions on future purchases.
I’m also puzzled why they do not make them available for offline install.
And as I mentioned briefly before, I can’t update the induction hotends I bought w/out putting the printer online and having it update everything. A few I bought late Jan. already have updated firmware, but several I bought previously do not, printer reports an “incompatibility” error and I’m not sure it’s safe to use them.

Does anyone know if the H2C firmware can be downgraded though the Handy app? Or have any more control via the app than we have via the printer itself? I saw a BL article about that, though it was for some other printer. I don’t use the app and otherwise have no interest in it, so figured I’d ask.
Or maybe I can do that via Studio if the printer is online (not LAN mode)? I only had it online for initial setup so I’m not sure, though I don’t remember seeing any downgrade option once it had installed the initial update (early Dec.).

Yes you can on Handy, on the device page, click on the hamburger on top right, click on firmware and at the bottom of the page you can downgrade
you can disregard this error, I have about 500h on my machine never updated and I did buy extra hoteds, and I’m alos getting that error.
but can you downgrade to oryginal 1.00.01.00 ?
It can only go down to 01.01.00.00
Thank you for the confirmation. I was almost tempted to upgrade, but since I’m not experiencing any issues with my H2C, I’ll stick with the OG firmware for now. I’ll consider upgrading once they allow mixing nozzles or introduce a meaningful cool improvement.
