Layer issue caused by overhangs/holes

I just got an X1C a week ago and have been printing with it a lot and have noticed an issue with some of my prints.

I am using Overture PETG and in Bambu Studio a standard .2mm layer height with the default generic PETG profile.

I just got my shipment of Bambu Labs PETG-HF filament I’ll be using and maybe that would help resolve this. I’m drying it right now and will try this print again to see if that helps.

What settings could I adjust to fix this? I am thinking maybe to slow down the perimeter/wall speed?

The pictures show the issue in 3 separate places on the same print every hole had this issue.

This must be a slicer issue right?

Thanks!

I solved the problem.

I changed the default generic PETG profile exterior wall/perimeter speed from 200 to 100 mm/s and I changed the interior from 300 to 100. I also changed the top layer speed to 100 as I had an unrelated issue with holes in the top.

The print was 1hr 50min and after these changes it was 2.5hrs so not too bad.

I’ll see if the Bambu HF filament has the same issue I’m hoping I don’t need to tweak any speeds with jt.

The end result was a perfect print with no defects like shown in the pictures in my original post.

I had the same defects with original Bambulab PETG Basic, which has been discontinued. I had to reduce speeds to 120, better 100 mm/s. So very similar to your results.
I mainly use Sunlu PETG at the moment at 240°C and full speed. Bambu PETG HF also works fine.

It really seems like some receipts just aren’t suitable for higher speeds.

In my experience, most — if not all — layer profiles are designed for PLA, and more often than not, they need adjustments to deliver excellent results. My PETG-HF profile and filament settings required quite a bit of tweaking to achieve prints that were both visually appealing and durable.
