Layer separation on chamfer

Hi Bambulab community,

Just want to post this in case anyone encountered this issue before.
I’m currently printing this on H2D and have been printing this file for more than a thousand hours.

Suddenly, the extruded line on the wall just is not sticking, causing print defects and headaches.
I have run complete calibrations, resliced, and used the same old file that was printed fine. Still, the problem persists.

I already raised a ticket to Bambu support and posted to this forum as well.

Any help or troubleshooting ideas are appreciated.

More information:
The filament is considered dry. I have not changed anything about the settings or filaments.
Material: Local PETG brand Threebees.
Nozzle: HF 0.8
Print profile: Standard 0.4mm profile with layer height set to 0.56mm


that’s clearly a warp, either loss of bed adhesion or something interfered your bed mesh.

clean the build plate, apply glue, clean your nozzle, rerun bed mesh calibration (low temp and high temp)

As @hotellonely said, the part is warping up on the edges and so the chamfer wall doesn’t have anywhere to adhere too. A .56mm layer height is really pushing it for a .4 nozzle with trying to print a chamfer. I’m surprised you haven’t had issues with this before.

Thank you for all of the comments. I have found the source of the issue and want to update others who might have the same problem.
Just to be clear, I am using a 0.8 nozzle, and it’s been no issue so far.

The source of the problem is the bed temperature. I tried to backtrack changes that I made and found out that I adjusted the “other layer bed temp” to 50 (from the default of 70) degrees C to experiment with lowering the power consumption, and forgot to dial it back.

My theory is that the lowered bed temp caused poor filament layer adhesion (instead of the new extruded filament sticking to the previous layer, it just did not).

Raising the bed temperature to 70 fixed the issue.
