Layer shift in multicolor prints that don't occur on single color Prin

I’ve recently begun to have significant layer shift as soon as there is a color change. However if I print the same model in a single color it prints perfectly.

As an example, this single color print worked

while this two color print was shifted at the point the 2nd color began.

two color pumpkin top fail
and the same thing happens with this octopus print, single color print is flawless,

while the 4 color print shifts at the point a new color comes in

Since the single color prints come out good, I do not think it is a mechanical issue, but most likely an issue with settings or the software. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you solve it?? :grinning: :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Yes. It’s been a while since I did it tho. I think I homed the extruder, powered down the system. Cleaned the carbon rods with alcohol. Loosened the belt tensioned screws. Manually moved the extruder around the enclosure ensuring that it moved easily. Retightened the belt tensioner screws. Performed routine cleaning & Lube. Done.

Since my printer was brand new, I’m pretty sure it was shipped out of spec. Have not needed to repeat the procedure yet.

Hope that helps.
