Hi everyone,
I’m trying to achieve a clean, consistent outer surface on a large conical plant pot and could use some advice.
The print almost fills the build volume of a Bambu P1S. I’m using well-dried and calibrated ELEGOO PLA Matte. Mechanically everything is fine, but the outer surface still shows visible artifacts.
Main issues:

Visible Z-seam stripe
I tested scarf seam, but instead of a smooth transition I get a clearly visible vertical stripe with a rough texture next to it. The scarf seam does not seem to be applied consistently over the full height, likely due to the changing wall angle of the cone. -
Horizontal banding clearly linked to layer time
The horizontal bands visible on the outer surface line up exactly with layers that have longer layer times in the slicer preview. Wherever the slicer shows increased layer time, a corresponding horizontal band appears on the printed surface. This strongly suggests that the artifacts are caused by layer-time-related changes. -
Inner features telegraphing through the outer wall
Even when inner seams (from objects on the inner wall of the pot) are well hidden, small blobs or texture changes appear on the outside at the same Z-heights.

Goal:
A visually uniform, matte outer surface with minimal visible seam and no horizontal banding, suitable for a product-like finish.
My questions:

Is scarf seam actually suitable for large conical objects?

How can layer-time-induced surface changes be minimized in Bambu Studio?

What settings should i enable / disable to optimize the outer surface of my Pot?
