Letter box printing problem

Hi guys, i need some help with some letter boxes i am trying to make. I used Canva and tinkercad to design the letters. I made the box 38 mm high with a 2 mm ridge inside and recessed it 4 mm from the top. The lid to the box fits perfectly in tinkercad but when it prints it is slightly too big and wont fit inside the box. Am i missing something in tinkercad when making the lid or in bambu slicer settings when printing maybe?

Yes, while 3D printers are excellent, physics means you may get slightly bigger dimensions that expected.

The key is to design tolerances into the model.

Make the lid slightly smaller, remove 0.4mm in both width and depth.

If that doesn’t work increase the reduction value until you get the fit you desire.

You should also consider tapering the base slightly to make the lid easier to place.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to try this today. I made the lid almost 1 mm smaller and that definitely helped. I am going to try and taper the base as well.
