I am trying to make a label. If you look at the upper left of the image you will see a blue plate with white letters. The rest of the image depicts what happens after I slice the model. Part of the letters disappear. Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it. The plate is 3 mm thick with 2 mm letters on top.
The scale of the font is below the minimum resolution that the nozzle can produce so the slicer simply ignores those and extrudes the remainder. Remember, the slicer doesn’t know it’s a letter it only knows where the printer can extrude filament.
To illustrate this point, take your model and scale it by 200% and you will quickly see the letters reappear.
You’re options are to use a larger font or heavier font stroke such as Bold, or you could use a non-script/Sans Serif Font such as Arial, Lucida Console which renders well. But if you want to go artsy, you’ll have to experiment to see which size and font will render at the scale you’re printing.

Ok, Thanks. I will try bold and experiment with the font.
Or try slicing it with a .2 nozzle. You would need a .2 to print it with though.

A few things you can try:
- Enabling “Detect thin wall” (Slicer)
- Changing wall generator from “Classic” to “Arachne” (slicer)
- Using a 0.2 mm instead of 0.4 mm nozzle
