Likely clog culprit found in AMS 2 Pro

I notice when moving a filament spool from the #3 slot that the rim of it had been grinding away against the PTFE tubes beneath it. This created “PTFE fluff”, for lack of a better term, accumulated over time in that region, and had starting weakly sticking to the edge of the spool as it went round and round. But, worse, it would fall off onto the filament in the spool and, I presume, eventually get pulled into the extruder and very likely cause a jam given the size and the high melting point of PTFE… I had an uptick in jams, which I didn’t experience at all when the printer was new, and I think this is the likely cause.

I just now vacuumed a bunch of it out of the AMS 2 Pro. I’ll need to do something to prevent this happening in the future. Something to keep the ptfe tubes inside the AMS 2 Pro pushed down enough that they don’t rise to the level where they’re rubbing against the spindle rims.

Most likely I’ll also need to replace the AMS 2 Pro tubes, or at least blow them out with strong compressed air, to halt the inexorable migration toward the extruder of whatever PTFE fluff has already found itself pulled inside as a free rider on the filament as it gets pulled in by the extruder.

I saw a solution in makers world, a clip which holds down the ptfe tubes, search for it.
