Live View: Player is Malfunctioning. Error 2:2

This works! thanks for the post!!

Hello, I did update to Sequoia today, followed the same steps to disable+enable Bambu Studio for Local Network and after restarting the studio I am still getting same error.
Is it just me being slow or has anyone experienced the same?

Ya same problem here with latest macOS update 15.2. Both Orca and Bambu are broken. Both my X1 and P1. Privacy network access does not fix it.

yup, same here - after update to 15.2 it says “Player is malfunctioning. Please reinstall the system player. [2:2] < 12-14 12:19>”

Interesting enough on one of my devices on macOS 15.2 is an M4 mini everything works perfectly. But on my M2 Air i have this issue. Ive tried to uninstall and remove all support files etc, tried nightly and older builds, nothing works.

Fails on my m4 mac (worked on 15.1, fails on 15.2, and yes, security is set).

Tried deleting and reinstalling the app, still no joy. Toggling the permission doesn’t work either.

The solution is to turn off the built-in macOS firewall in network settings, then it works again with no problems.

After that you can run LuLu as its a much better firewall: Objective-See: LuLu

I confirm that disabling buil-in macOS firewall in network settings work but it can’t be a permanent fix. In firewall settings bambu lab studio is allowed for incoming connexion. How to report a bug, I am new to this nice community ?

Sadly, it doesn’t work for me. Access was already granted, I removed it and granted it again – nothing changed. Still have the 2:2 error on MacOS 15.2…

Same for me, under MacOS 15.2 you need to disable the Mac internal firewall, even if BambuStudio is allowed to receive incoming connections. I couldn’t find out any other process being responsible for the video stream using the Activity Monitor. It is just visible that BambuStudio receives packages when the firewall is turned off.
But this cannot be a permanent solution, they need to bring an update to fix this.

Thank so very much. I’ve been pulling my hair out for about two weeks and tried all the usual stuff ( uninstall, reinstall, YouTube, and Google) then spotted this post just when I was about to give, so bravo for sharing your findings.

Roughly 4 weeks after GA of MacOS 15.2, the problem still seems to exist on Mac. Disabling the FW did the job for me currently.

Weird thing is, it only seems to affect the videostream. Everything else in regards to the communication between Bambu Studio and the printer does not seem to be affected…

same, latest macos fails . was hoping this was fixed as I just got mine today. all network / settings are correct. works on android pixel 8 pro, not on iphone 14, or any macos

Bambu Support asked me yesterday to provide a ton of information that was already summarized in the very same mail. Clearly, they want to keep the customers busy to have more time to tiptoe around the problem. They also told me yesterday in a second mail to switch of the Firewall as a “solution”. Yea.

Bummr. This is not a solution, this is just the support being either clueless or lazy or both.

Very disappointed with their support so far.

Same here. Tried all of the “solutions” mentioned in this post. The only one working for me is disabling the firewall, which is not acceptable of course.

A further symptom is that I have no access to my SD card always when I have no access to the webcam. It’s showing “initialising”, that’s all.

What can we do? Any other ideas?

Same problem here. Waiting for fix.

Having the same problem, tried all methods listed here and waiting on a fix.

There were some additional suggestions to disable MAC internal firewall but that has not been able to solve the issue for me.
What is funny though, when I connect my MAC to mobile phone hot spot the video runs  like W.T.F
So suspicios it may be something with my Mikrotik router, but other devices including Windows machine with Bambu Studio installed can work while connected via the router. So it is not clearly only router.

Anyone tried messing with port forwards?

I have opened all suggested ports from : Printer Network Ports | Bambu Lab Wiki but no luck
I have tried all possibe NAT combinations and no luck.

But switching to hotspot running of a phone and local mobile provider’s cellular network it runs. WHYYYY

This worked for me, thanks. Have now st up Macaffee firewall which works fine.
