I am getting this error every second print when using the new Gold color BBL PEI plate on the XIC. I have check and rechecked the build plate position to make sure it is correctly placed. I DO NOT get this error even once on the regular BBL black textured PEI plate or High Temp.Cool plate. Not sure what it could be related to besides the paint or something on these new sheets.
I ignore the error and the prints are fine - no issues there. Anyone else facing this (note: made sure camera lens etc are clean too)
Not a systematic fault but yes i have less warnings if its more to the right. Do you have the internal light on? Can try do document when it happens. But as you say the prints are good anyhow by just ignoring the message.
I get this everytime I use it, not seeing any difference when slightly to right or left. Have noticed there is a slight bit of movement between left and right positions vs the cool plates.
This is anecdotal, but it is definitely not worse than the black textured plate, and perhaps better adhesion. I’ve switched to it pretty much exclusively for my textured plate on my X1C.
I’ve received my Golden PEI plate a few days ago and just “installed” it. And got the same error message. I’d expect detection to work without errors. This is why I bought the Bambu golden PEI plate and not a 3rd party.
So @BambuLab would be great to get an update about this issue. If it is cosmetic and will be fixed in an upcoming firmware that would be fine but communication about it would be great.
My X1C is in a very dark room (basement), the lighting for the build plate is turned on (no modifications to it, stock lighting).
Update: After the upgrade to version 1.06 on the X1 , the problem is “less frequent” but not completely gone. I would get this error most every second print earlier and now its like one in five or six plates that I get the error. As stated before there is no issue with the prints once I ignore the error.
As for questions about if the Gold plate is better than the Black BBL PEI plate. I would say definitely yes. The print bet adhesion seems much better . I can tell this because when I remove the prints from the plate on the Gold PEI they definitely seem to be more firmly stuck on the bed, nor have I ever had a print fail due to adhesion issues since I switched to the Gold plate.
As most of you have already noticed, there seems to be a minor size difference in this plate that makes it a little harder to “perfectly” align.
