Lock Assembly

I have added two holes to a part using two negative parts. I have also tried using primatives to accomplish the same thing. While both were successful, the negatives can be acciedentally moved out of position. Is there a way to lock them into place?

Welcome to the forum.

The key is to merge the part and negative parts together with a “Mesh boolean” so they act as one part. Right click on the top level part.

Thanks for your fast reply! I tried this, unfortunately it gives me the following error:
“Unable to perform boolean operation on model meshes. Only positive parts will be kept. You may fix and try again. Reason: Part does not bound a volume.”

Then the model crashes and I have to close it.

Sounds like there may be a problem with your original model.

If you right click on your model have you tried “Fix model”? (I think this only works on windows systems IIRC)

Hi JonRaymond

Ran the Fix Model feature and the results are still the same.

Can you link to the original file or upload your 3mf somewhere?

I was able to fix it with the Fusion 360 repair tool. Thanks for your help!
