I just received some Jessie Beige 500 PLA filament from Printed Solid and have not been able to get good results using the generic PLA profile in Bambu Studio. Does anyone have any suggestions for settings to use with this filament? It seems that Printed Solid only provides support for Prusa printers.
Having just looked at the website, I noticed that it is really amateurish not to publish any data on the filament, which is actually standard practice. You will probably have no choice but to calibrate it yourself. However, before you do that, post a photo.
Post a photo of your bad prints. You should have a message in your forum inbox. Once you have confirmed the rules and completed a 5-minute tutorial, you will be able to post photos.
With a photo, users can give you much more specific advice!It could also be that you have a moist filament.
As for the possibility of moist filament, I tried two different spools that were just opened from their vacuum sealed bags. I’ll post a photo as soon as I can.
The only reason for buying the filament is because I wanted this particular color to match my Amiga 500 computer.
That’s because they ARE Prusa. Prusa bought them in 2022.
I tried to find some settings through Google. I found some reviews from people printing Jessie on their Bambus but none of them mentioned their settings or profiles.
I reached out to Printed Solid to ask if they had any additional info on the Jessie PLA settings. They sent some screenshots for the preset in Prusa Slicer. Here they are. Unfortunately I don’t know what to do with this information.

That looks really not good, but I’m surprised by the dark lines - I haven’t seen that before. Maybe they sent you a bad filament. To recover the situation, I would try the following:
I also installed Orca Slicer and am considering performing the additional calibrations that aren’t in Bambu Studio. Either way, I’ve wasted a lot of filament trying to figure this out. My experience with Printed Solid products has been disappointing.
That’s more than just “gaps.” Look at how dark they are, as if there were dirt or something burned. Or the material of the nozzle has worn away, I have no idea. Perhaps that’s just the photo misleading me.
Trust me. It’s gaps. I even changed both the nozzle and sock. I just completed the flow calibrations. No improvement. Unfortunately I don’t have a way to to dry out the filament. I’ve tried the generic PLA, Bambu PLA as well as creating custom filaments. Here’s are photos of a partial Bambu cube that printed. I stopped the print for obvious reasons. I’ve read about people using this filament with the Bambu PLA profile and they claim that they got good results. My printer is fine. I get good prints using Bambu, eSUN and Sunlu fillamtents. There must be something about this filament that is very different from the others.
Well, from this photo, it looks like one thing to me: extremely moist. It has definitely absorbed moisture, but perhaps others will share their opinions on this.
Which would confirm this theory that you got a moist filament.
What kind of printer do you have? Some can do that on the print plate.
I’m using an A1 with the AMS lite. I don’t believe that the A1 has any drying feature. If the filament does have a moisture issue, it doesn’t reflect very well on the quality control at Printed Solid. I sent them an email describing the problems that I’m having. I’ll report back with their reply. I do think that it’s really odd that I’m having so many problems when a number of other people who have used the Jessie filament think that it’s a great product.

Based on the images provided I would recommend tuning pressure advance if that is something you’re able to do. Different brands of filament can behave differently so that may help a bit. If you aren’t able to do that or it doesn’t help let me know
Even if he is theoretically correct, in practice normal PLA should behave like normal PLA. If you absolutely need this colour, I think it would be easier to just buy a matte spray can with filler. After all, it’s an “Amiga” colour, which was widely used in the past for colouring housing parts like this.
It’s called Amiga 500 Beige. Someone has taken the trouble to write down the RAL color codes, depending on how discolored the housing is:
…or at least buy a filament that doesn’t come from this company and only go by the color code. If you search for “Filament RAL1014” in Google, for example, you will find quite a few results.
That’s another bad joke from Printed Solid - they don’t even include the color code on there webseite. I’ve never seen a filament manufacturer that doesn’t specify the color code for any of its filaments. It’s totally unprofessional.
Well, many also refer to it as Hex Code, which is just another way of writing it.
