Loud exhaust fan

Hi,

I just received my H2C last weekend. Overall absolutely awesome machine except for one little annoyance, the exhaust fan! When this thing is turned on, it rattles really loudly like a broken PC fan. I already contacted bambu support, they sent me a replacement fan, but this one has the same problem. You can really feel while holding this fan in your hand that it is very shaky and not running smooth. I think this vibration is transferring to the fan/printer case and then producing the sound like in my video.

Would be interested how many other people are affected by this, if there are any completely silent H2C printers out there? Or if you guys just don’t care :smiley: To be honest, when printing with PLA, other fan noises become louder once the printer keeps going anyways, but when printing PETG where the AUX and PART coolers run slower, the noise is always there and a bit annoying.

I replaced it now with a Noctua Fan. The printer is super quiet now. It’s awesome. Got the Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-24V-3000 SP IP67 PWM industrial fan. It has less max RPM than the stock bambu fan, but so far seems to hold the temperatures at the same levels with same PWM percentages.

I have the same problem with my new H2C.
If you send me a new fan, it probably won’t be any better.

Your idea with the Noctua fan is great, but how do you connect it electrically ?
Can you tell me how to connect the fan correctly?

Solder or crimp to the needed plug type. Cut the Bambu plug with enough cablelength from the old fan, check the wire-colors for + - pwm rpm and solder it to the wire of the Noctua fan. What else?

If only I knew which color of bambu would fit the Noctua fan.

Thank you for the work you put in on diagnosing and finding a solution to this problem! My exhaust fan makes the same “bad bearing PC fan” buzz that your video portrays, and it’s incredibly annoying to me, since my printer sits behind my desk about two feet away. I already ordered the Noctua as a replacement. I see you provided a wiring chart as well. Top work!

The question is whether the existing soft screws for the Noctua fans still fit ?
