Hi All!
I’m new (First post) and recently got my first printer ever. (A1 Combo).
I did all the initial setup and calibration and printer already ask to lube Y Axis rails. (i did not printed yet, not even the benchy) Is that normal??
I think printer should came pre-lubed?
Sorry for my bad english, not my native language.
Thanks
Yes, because it’s oil & not grease
It will remind you once a month or so, depending on how much you print.

Oil dries over time. This is why you should put new oil on your machine at the start. They could grease it, It will last a lot longer but it’s also messy and collects dirt/debris that you don’t want on your rails.
Thank you! did the oiling and printed my first print. (Benchy on course!)
I think it look fine with default settings and 0.4 nozzle.
I put the printer on a workbench that looked enough stable but when printing the workbench vibrate a lot more than i thought.
Heard it can affect print quality. (i don’t know how by how much)
is it bad for the printer itself?
Thanks.
This YT video gives some insight, but I don’t think it answers your question about damage to the printer…
Get a 16" x 16" (15.75" x 15.75" Actual) Concrete Sidewalk slab from Home Depot or other hardware store. Set your printer on it and it will help reduce the shaking. I painted mine along the outside edge so that it would look nicer.
Edit: You might want to use the 12" x 12" for the A1 I have the X1C. If one slab is not enough, you can try two.
