I installed a brand new printer only yesterday, and it immediately told me that it’s time to lubricate the Y axis. Is this normal? Should I actually do that, or should it be pre-lubricated at the factory?
With my X1, maintenance recommendations used to be driven mainly by elapsed time. But things changed sometime in 2024 with maintenance recommendations now being primarily dependant on measurements. I assume its mainly changes in the frequency response function during print start up and calibration.
So I’d recommend just doing it. It certainly shouldn’t do any harm. And since it is unknown how long that printer has been sitting around before being shipped and what it experienced during the journey, it is probably a good idea anyway.

PS: You may want to bookmark the Bambu wiki. It is very useful for all kinds of issues, troubleshooting, maintenance, etc
When I got my A1, it showed the same thing. You really don’t know how much lubricant was applied at the factory. Better safe than sorry.
