Main Controller Cooling

I have had a 60mm cooling fan on the back panel of my H2D since I got the printer. Recently I added a W3230 thermostat with the temp probe on the MC heatsink.

So I made a discovery, the external fan either blowing or sucking does little to nothing for cooling the heatsink. Also the heatsink runs at chamber temperature.

I thought what if I deliver the cooling air to the heatsink with a duct? Bingo 20 C drop in MC heatsink temperature.

how does your mc heatsink look like? is it fan shaped or box shaped?
Old (box shaped)

New (fan shaped)

Fan shaped ones don’t have overheating issues

I have the newer fan shaped heatsink.

it shouldn’t have overheating issues then
