Makerworld "community" tab was a big mistake

Was coming here just for that. I don’t feel that is legit, but hey, makerworld allows it… so why not? :face_with_monocle:

I assume we all reported each of the three this moron posted?

I would say yes, but my reports seem to get ignored. But i hope yours get through :ok_hand:

Whoa Malc slow down, let’s see if I won before you do anything hasty!

I never win, so I spoil it for others.

I reported 2 of there posts as well. Then I just blocked them. I have also been blocking almost everything with a poll. Ones with a picture can stay for now.

Im lost… can anyone tell my what and where to find this “community tap” thing? Just so i know what you are all talking about.

It is in two places essentially

Here is the main one. It shows ALL posts and also just the posts form those you follow.

https://makerworld.com/en/community

There is one for just you that shows the community posts YOU made, this is where your uploads and collections are.

System Announcements.

Look in your system announcements, it was in there, the same place you see your comments and get Boosts awarded.

Who flagged my comments about us all reporting the spammer?

Do you side with spammers?

Grow up you chicken and say sorry.

Not IT. I reported them too.

So now all of my posts are going to be flagged

The same user has spammed twice more since the one that showed up here, plus, the one he created as a forum post.

the spam being made by the user realnationprint is out of control, i just reported 4 or 5 posts that were just added with the “offers” this is purely ad spam, @MakerWorld is this what you want the community feature to be used?

I hope they do something about it. I also reported but until now no answer at all.

Also, this is just to show that people will fall into every social scam.
That user has no rules for the contest, no disclaimers anywhere, nothing.

What i believe it’s going to happen:

  1. His social accounts will get followers and with that will get “boosted” to more people
  2. He will try to make another “contest” later on with something along the line “Download X model and post a make and tag a friend” and will get downloads inflated. I bet this will be made on his socials so that makerworld wouldn’t notice.
  3. The “winner” will not get anything but a 40€ coupon, that is easy to get.
  4. This will be forgotten and repeated later on after the dust settles

I just realized what the solution is… it just hit me when I read this. His spam here on the forum is already gone. Do you know why it’s gone from here but still on Makerworld? Because we have @JonRaymond and Makerworld doesn’t. @JonRaymond do you think you can start moderating Makerworld too? I mean between the hundreds of new users popping up here and the thousands of models being uploaded there it shouldn’t be too much right?

I was seriously wondering if he was going to send them one of his $40 gift codes for Makerworld.

The “John Wick” of Makerworld. Me likes it

But jokes aside, that would be a lot of work for a single person. But yes, that was the solution. Human moderation

Then if that “contest” is in any way “real” makes it illegal in multiple jurisdictions. Just sayin’

I’m certain there are people who’ll believe any scam… Or the same user can make another account and have it show “a proof” of scam being real…

I concur!

Don’t know if it’s related to the community tab, but now when in someone’s profile i press “follow” i get this. I think it was also a request from people around here.
