MakerWorld Contest Hilarity

I know you’re a professional, and I ask this question with all due respect: Could the issue be you? Or, to be more precise: Did you fill out the applications incorrectly and incompletely?

Such a number is more than just unusual. I would almost say unique. As you know, you always have to bear in mind that just because you think something is against the rules, that doesn’t necessarily reflect MakerWorld’s stance. I mean, we all know that the rules are often vague and far from perfect, but the figures really speak against you now.

When discussing this topic, one thing should not be overlooked: irrelevant models are, of course, not going to be winners, however annoying they may be.

And of course, everyone has different experiences! That’s obvious! But it’s slowly becoming clear why you brought up the topic and what the context is. Again, though, so many people report models and post about it in the forum that it’s clearly successful, so you should change your strategy.

However, as mentioned, it is important to distinguish between the various aspects. I fully agree that irrelevant models should be removed from the competition. Nevertheless, this should be separate from the discussion about why reports fail. This is not criticism, but a suggestion to optimise youre process. :+1:

Now, especially when it comes to Christmas: remember that this is an international event, with different cultures, including Asian ones, that interpret it completely differently. I know that sounds harsher than intended, but if 65 reports are rejected, you need to consider whether there is a problem on your end.

And finally, I would like to point out that even if a model is initially visible in the competition, it still has consequences if it is irrelevant:

For each detected irrelevant model uploaded to the contest page, we will deduct 50 points from the user’s account.

If a single user violates this rule up to 3 times in total, this user will be banned from entering future contests.
