I’ve just noticed that none of the designs i’ve downloaded / printed registered as downloaded or printed on download/print counters for that design. I could still leave review after successful print.

Are you saying that somebody downloads 5 models elsewhere… then stops by one of my models, downloads it and I don’t get a download for it? How is that my fault that he’s got 5 downloads already?

That is really dumb. I know they are doing it for point issues, but I never realized 5 was the number. Way too low
Let’s do the math here… I got a model with 100 downloads, but that’s not really the case, because in fact it’s 1,000 downloads… you see 900 of them printed it as their 5+ a day.
…or whatever the numbers are, because really then if that is the case, the number of downloads is even more useless than the number of prints. I mean, we all know that prints in “LAN only” mode and on non-Bambu printers don’t count or can’t be counted or whatever the excuse. That’s why you basically end up with a 1/3 print to download ratio. Some people realized looking that the sliced image, “nah, skip” and some just don’t get counted.
Great, now I can put a little disclaimer on all my models, “Wanna support the designer… if you got 5 downloads already, please come back tomorrow or else I won’t get any points for your download.” Who in the world thought that would be a good idea.
I’m sure there’s no restrictions on print profile ratings a day, so people can just go ahead and cancel their prints, give you 3 stars (which is the limit then) and move on their merry way of getting their 50 points a month.
How the the world am I as a designer to blame for some random person already having their 5 downloads a day. Does that mean if I go grocery shopping… all I have to do is stop by 5 stores and than once I get to the 6th, I can steal whatever I want, because I don’t have to pay anymore… already visited by 5 stored a day?!?

don’t know… was added like a year ago… in grand scheme things it sucks …but in a way it don’t effect much. Because without it just means less points per download. As budget makerworld has not unlimited. Main thing it sucks not knowing ‘real’ data on how popular something is.
I think that was part of the spring of 2024 update.
It doesn’t apply to me. Did not download or print more than 5 designs on that day, heck did not have 5 in a week as I upload more than download. And printer is busy running prototypes. I’m also not running in LAN mode.
Did another test:
- cleared browser cache
- chose reasonably advanced model from makerworld - it had 1 download and one print displaying on design page
- chose open in Bambu Studio, studio opened without issues, design opened as it should be.
- changed printer profile from original H2D to P1S. - saved
- Maker world page still displays 1 download and 1 print even after “CTRL+F5” page refresh.
In the past 5 days I’ve downloaded 3-4 designs total. Last download i know registered was on 12th August, on 15th it was already NOT registering as design I’ve downloaded still shows 0 downloads.
If system doesn’t register for some reasons my downloads no wonder I also did not get any boost to give out
